My search for a better diet began at a fairly early age, soon after I had become vegetarian in 1996. After reading 'Fit for Life' I became vegan in 1997 and over time transitioned to a 100% raw diet, which was actually pretty close to 811. However, I was eating nowhere near enough calories from sweet fruit and soon had massive cravings to battle. I had also become very skinny and, under pressure from my parents, reverted back to a cooked vegetarian diet. I returned to raw in 2005, albeit the high fat 'gourmet version' (and there I was wondering why I couldn't release excess fat and kept going back to cooked food!). Finally, in summer 2011, I stumbled upon an e-book on how to end cooked food cravings which promoted an lfrv diet and mentioned 30BaD as a resource. When I'm not munching down on fruit or out in nature, I'm pursuing a master's degree in medicinal chemistry.

Finally found a wholesaler in Germany

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 10:28pm 1 Comment

After much searching and many phone calls and emails, I finally found a wholesaler here in Germany who sells to retail customers. I didn't manage to find anyone local like I had hoped, but I did find one that delivers nation-wide. They aren't organic, but I can't afford that anyway. I have €300 - €350 to spend on food a month and buying from the likes of Orkos and Tropenkost, there was no way to live on that amount of money and get enough calories. Supermarkets weren't really an option…

Between Responsibility and Blame

I caught myself myself having what I first thought was the most insane thought ever. Now I'm not so sure anymore.

It happened as I was researching advice on how to best mention a health condition/disability  affecting job performance in am application. I was browsing a book chapter on the subject that included examples around issues such as hearing impairment or need for a wheelchair. As a read these I thought "At least those things aren't their (meaning the applicant's)…

Feeling good no matter what

Posted on November 21, 2011 at 2:02am 3 Comments

Okay, so I'm still on anti-depressants and loads of other psych meds, but I'm feeling better than I have in a long time. Upping my calories to 3000+ with plans to work my way up higher still (according to the 10g carbs per 1kg bodyweight formula, I'd need over 4500 calories a day) and stepping up my releasing/Sedona Method game seems to be doing wonders for me, especially where mood and energy are concerned. Even though I'm struggling today with my NaNoWriMo novel and uni work, I still feel…

Delivery Day!

Posted on November 15, 2011 at 11:54pm 1 Comment

After falling off the fruity wagon last week (most likely due to not eating enough calories in the time before my period), I'm back to my fruit munching ways since this weekend. Money is still tight, especially since I just spent €300 to stock up on dates, 30kg all in all, plus 3kg of dried apricots and some nuts and seeds. All that was delivered earlier today and I spent the better part of my morning puttering around the basement in order to find storage space for all the goodies.

I…
