Cooked foods out of habit?

I am trying to figure out why I still eat cooked foods even when I am not craving them at all.I limit them to 10-20% of my diet, usually just a bit of cooked vegan food when I have a salad for lunch and dinner. Even if I am carbing up all day, I still eat cooked food, possibly out of habit? I am definitely not craving them on the days that I am eating enough, but I still have a bit of low fat cooked vegan food. Withing the last two weeks I have noticed that I don't feel the need to finish my…See More

In the Summer of 2012, I stumbled upon some blog posts about raw food. I immediately took an interest in it and started researching. Thankfully I discovered the low-fat raw vegan approach through 30 Bad and certain YouTube channels. For a while I was high raw, but after a few months I switched to High Carb Cooked Vegan. I still have plenty of raw fruit, green smoothies, and veggies, but I have rice and low fat vegan options. The raw lifestyle and veganism is very close to my heart.

I am so passionate about the 801010 lifestyle, and want to continue to eat this way for the rest of my life. I want to be able to have more days where I am fully raw and I want to cut down on eating specialized vegan options and have more rice if I am eating cooked foods. My ultimate goal is to be free, vibrant, and happy though this lifestyle.

Cooked foods out of habit?

Posted on October 14, 2012 at 7:30am 1 Comment

I am trying to figure out why I still eat cooked foods even when I am not craving them at all.

I limit them to 10-20% of my diet, usually just a bit of cooked vegan food when I have a salad for lunch and dinner.

Even if I am carbing up all day, I still eat cooked food, possibly out of habit? I am definitely not craving them on the days that I am eating enough, but I still have a bit of low fat cooked vegan food.

Withing the last two weeks I have noticed that I…

Too many Dates?

Posted on October 6, 2012 at 1:11am 3 Comments

I am 5 days in to trying out the non calorie restricted HCRV. Previously was restricting calories to about 1300 a day (I'm a small frame and 5'3" female), but then fell off the wagon, assuming my body was retaliating from the low amount of food I was eating, for 2 weeks and gained back all my weight eating cooked food and processed sugar :/

To my surprise my detox symptoms this time around are a lot different. This time around I have noticed much less energy and a slight…

Fruit Before Salad

Posted on September 27, 2012 at 12:00pm 0 Comments

My goal right now is to be 70-90% raw, so by "spoiling my apatite" with about 400 calories of sweet fruit before a savory meal wipes out my intense desire for cooked foods.

I am pretty excited to find that this works for me because I have had some difficulty getting enough leafy greens in my diet, so it allows me to meet my carb needs for the day as well as getting two salad meals in a day.

It is a challenge restructuring the way you see food and think about proper meals in…

Struggling cutting out last cooked meal of the day

Posted on September 25, 2012 at 10:25am 7 Comments

I have found that I go through the day easily eating mono meals of fruit, but that I am looking forward to my cooked dinner a bit too much. I try to keep it low fat by having rice with a vegan option and a lot of spinach and sprouts, but I feel like it is just holding me back because it makes me crave sugar and salt like crazy.

I was able to be 80% raw for the first 2 weeks and I really miss the feeling I had while following that way of eating and I did not have any cravings. I know…
