Low Potassium after 15 Bananas

I was having strange episodes and ended up being hospitalized a couple nights when the episodes got really bad.  This wasn't the main problem but the doctors did note that my potassium was low.  The weird thing is I had eaten eaten FIFTEEN bananas that day (as well as other fruits and veggies).  I had been eating raw till 4 but had not been eating low sodium.  Any idea what caused the low potassium after eating plenty of bananas and other fruit?See More

I'm a Yakima Valley girl. I'm married to the hunkinest Wyoming not-so-cowboy there is. Fruit is and probably always has been my favorite food. I say simplicity is a virtue. I live in the northwest but J and I need to move somewhere sunny. I'm new to this life and could use some vegan buddies as I don't personally know any other vegans.

Becoming Healthy Again

Posted on March 17, 2014 at 2:42pm 1 Comment

I grew up eating SAD. I was anemic throughout my early childhood. Since as early as I can remember, I've gotten frequent severe headaches ranging from mild to almost debilitating. All tests have indicated I'm a healthy girl, though I've never felt it. At seventeen I began under-eating. My diet consisted mainly of small portions of chicken (never really enjoyed red meat as much). Given my poor appetite, I maintained my weight easily between 100-105lbs (I'm 5'7") for years. To this day I've never… Continue
