So I packed for a week-long trip up the state of CA yesterday. I packed a case of unripe bananas in our camper and after an 8 hour drive, they are all ripe - like ready to eat TODAY. I am freaking…Continue

"How about avocado? Warm banana 'chai'? Also FYI, you don't need to use processed oats. You can soak the whole raw oat groats overnight, then blend with cinnamon and homemade almond milk or apples in the morning. Add raisins, too!"

Hi,I am into week two of 811 diet. Before that, I did one week of a transitional diet (all raw, mostly fruit, but some condiments and more fat). I have been vegan for several years and on/off raw. So far, I feel great and I've worked through a few issues with breakouts, bloating, gas, etc. I am reaping the rewards of sticking with it and I plan to continue! I do have a few questions after analyzing my dietary intake on cronometer:1) I am having a hard time getting protein above 5%. I am…See More

I was first introduced to the Raw Food lifestyle about 2 years ago. I spent my 20's as a 'junk food' vegetarian and became vegan at 29. My sole reasons for adopting a vegetarian and later a vegan diet were ethical. I did not become interested in the health aspects until my first daughter was born in 2007. I now have 3 daughters, ages 4 mos., 3 years and 4 years. My husband became vegan in 2009 and we are raising our daughters as vegans. The world of raw foods opened up an entirely new chapter in my life and I have embraced it as my goal to provide healthful raw food meals for my family and encourage them in this way of life. We currently eat fruit plates every morning, often making intricate 'fruit art' and my kids are always in the kitchen helping me with some new dish. I became curious about the fruitarian diet and began reading about it after the birth of my last daughter. I had some digestive issues after my last pregnancy and I began to question the health of all the nuts, seeds and oils I was consuming. I tend to crave fatty foods over sweet, so I always made the excuse that they were good for me. I bought Freelee's book "Go FRUIT yourself" and became more inspired. I've been keeping a food journal and trying to eat as much fresh, ripe fruit as possible to satiate my hunger as a nursing mom! It's not easy to eat so much VOLUME at this point, so I find myself eating all day. I'm excited to be a part of this community and learn from the experiences of others as well as provide insight from my experience as a breastfeeding mom of 3 kids on a fruitarian diet. So far, so good!! My husband says my skin is glowing and my energy level is way up. I am lovin' the DateOrade!

Reading "The 80-10-10 Diet" by Dr Doug Graham is vital for succeeding on this lifestyle. Please acquire this book as soon as possible.

My favourite books/movies/authors/pastimes are....
I love to read! Creating Healthy Children through attachment parenting and raw food (Karen Ranzi) is great; Baby Greens (raw food for babys and toddlers), Gabriel Cousens, World Peace Diet by Will Tuttle, Women Who Run with Wolves, Peaceable Kingdom (Animal documentary by Tribe of Heart)...I also love anything by Leo Tolstoy. I enjoy hiking (although it's on the backburner for now with three young babes), camping and solitary outdoor experiences.
Durianrider & Freelee started this site to bring together high carb, raw vegan lifestylists' across the Globe! 30bad is a high standard and high performance team! We're here to help you make our team! Let us know what HCRV assistance do you need?
I'm hoping to find support for my unique situation as a breastfeeding mom. I've had three pregnancies, 3 c/sections and been nursing for five consecutive years and since I have not been a HCRV during that time, I am sure I have some deficiencies and heavy detox coming up. I am not getting a lot of sleep with the baby, so that is an issue as well. I also don't know how many more calories I need to consume or if I should add a little more fat? Lastly, I live in a house with cooked vegan food and will be preparing some for my husband and kids (I am pioneering the HCRV diet on my own for now!) so I am worried about temptations. Any advice on these topics is greatly appreciated!

Oh that's wonderful! :) A big happy, snuggly, family bed. Well we have had the same except it is only queen size and fine when our daughter was little. Now she's almost 16, 5'9" and we still all pile in sometimes, it is very wonderful but very crowded! LOL! :)

So excellent, I'm sure it is going to be a wonderful adventure for you all!

Love your profile picture, your kids are cute as anything! What a great motivator to pursue excellent health! I feel sad sometimes that I didn't "get it" until my daughter was older, I wish I had the energy I do now, back when she was a little turbo bean zipping all over the place. But better late than never! I hope that this will be an excellent chapter for you in your raw journey.  :)
