A big part of why I signed up is not being able to find the answers to certain questions re: the 811 lifestyle on my own. I'm hoping someone can help answer this question:On SAD diets and high fat…Continue

I'm not sure really what to say here. For me, all of this started when I watched "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead". I was completely inspired by that film (so it was a bummer to read in one of DR's video comments that the man who made it has regained a lot of weight) and wanted to juice right away. I found Dan McDonald's videos on YouTube and was again inspired, but worried I wouldn't be able to sustain his way of eating permanently.

Rewind six months ago: I'd just come off three months on an extremely expensive "lifestyle" - that's what they told me: that 'it wasn't a diet, it was a lifestyle. It was the first I'd ever heard that, and boy did I swallow it hook, line, and sinker. I lost 30 pounds, got treated like a princess for six weeks, and "stacked it back on", as DR would say. Because it wasn't sustainable. It threw me into a heavy depression

(detailed enough for you?)

that I only just came out of a month or so ago. To have those results, that body, and just have it snatched away was awful.

The more I read about raw food, the more I thought, this makes sense. But what *didn't* make sense was people living on "macadamia nut truffle cacao coconut cream puffs", even if they were organic.

My first exposure to 80-10-10 was DR's video about "#1 Raw Newbie Mistake: Too Much Fat!" To be honest, the copious profanity was a turn-off. But the message made sense. So I read more and researched more, and now, here I am, hoping to get a few questions answered that I haven't been able to find help with on my own. I'm waiting on a library copy of the 80/10/10 book, so maybe my questions are answered in there.

I really want to be HCRV and just need some guidance
Reading "The 80-10-10 Diet" by Dr Doug Graham is vital for succeeding on this lifestyle. Please acquire this book as soon as possible.
I will read the book

I'm having a hard time sticking to just fruit, so I'm leaning pretty heavily on rice. But like DR has said in several videos, rice is bland by itself, so I end up adding spices. All in all, I'm concerned it's stalling my weight loss efforts, or even making me gain weight. But I could only take a few days on just fruit and nothing else. I crave savory. Any help would be wonderful.

Also, is it really true that you can eat as many carb calories as you like and not gain weight, as long as you consume very little fat? How exactly does that work? (I've already read the "Welcome Wagon" info, and I'm in line for the 80/10/10 book at the library.)

My only problem is rice. I'm this-close to buying an industrial grade blender to make savory soups. Other than that, I really have no issues. After nearly five years as an ovo-lacto 'vegetarian', I went vegan overnight, because I agreed with what I was reading and watching, and animal products made no sense. I'm just having trouble with all of the sweet and nothing else.

Hopefully you can help. :)
