To answer your question, yes, starches and high insulin levels, not fruits, are the problem. As I recommended in that discussion, you might want to read the book Wheat Belly by Willaim Davis.

We do not recommend you go back to animal products either. Animal products are conducive to cardiovasular diseases, may also contribute to diabetes especially when combined with starch and sugar, and cancers.
