Started riding with some guys that are better conditioned than me so I find I'm really pushing myself. Sometimes while doing this I get heartburn. Anyone know how to avoid this?Continue

Wow, people freak out when someone leaves a dog in a hot car, and rightly so! A friend on facebook retold how she waited by a car outside Walmart for the owners AND the cops that she called, so she…Continue

I could use some help breaking a plateau. I've been doing pullups and the most I can hit is 13. I basically do as many as I can each set and rest 3-4 minutes in between. I knock out about 60 in…Continue

I'm looking for a good way to keep track of this other than pen and paper. An app would be ideal but a program or site would be fine too. I just see there are a tonne out there. I've tried a couple…Continue

So I've changed things up a bit lately and it's been great so I just wanted to blog about this so that I remember and stick with it. I have the tendency to forget easily and slip up as a result.
So we recently had a family vacation where the diet went from HCRV to some HCCV and since I've been back I decided to do banana island to compensate. So for about a week now I've had pretty much just bananas and romaine, just plain, no smoothies. I've also upped the amount of greens as well.…

I've been doing the intermittent fasting thing for 57 days now. I've dropped 12 pounds and have about 12 more to go. So far so good.
I still eat mostly 811 when I'm not fasting and I don't restrict calories then, but I guess overall it is a restriction of course. I look at it as an experiment and one that seems to be going well so far. Durianrider said I would crash and binge but I haven't had that yet and it's been awhile.
I just got tired of gaining weight on…

I've been having a lot of trouble sleeping well lately to the point where I had been contemplating taking drugs (melatonin). I work a schedule that has me doing two weeks of nights every seven weeks. Up until now I've been blaming my poor sleep on my night shifts and the difficulty I have adjusting from them but I have recently learned some interesting facts that shed more light on the matter; literally!
You see I pretty much work in the dark all the time. I sit in front…

Fantastic deal on bananas today. I got two cases of organic for the price of two cases of regular. All because they didn't have a code to sell organic by the case! "I'll let you have 'em for the regular price," he says! So it worked out to 80lbs for $46 which is a little more than $.50/lb (which is the regular organic 50% discount price).
I usually try to buy up all the discounted I can find but often they end up quite bruised and I waste a bit. Plus because they are fully…

Peter Csere said… Perry, I removed your thread on the non-vegan banana spray, only because there was a thread about the exact same topic a couple days ago. Feel free to dig that one up if you'd like to discuss it.

Emily ♥ said… Hey Perry! I use a flat coffee filter as well, small size. It doesn't need to be triangle shape. I just use scissors to cut a tiny hole in the middle of it. What I do is fold the filter in half, then cut a tiny triangle, so that when you open it, it makes a little hole. Make it just big enough for a fruit fly to enter, and once they get in, they usually can't find their way back out. Have fun!
Thanks for the friend connection. Have a lovely day! :)
pradtf said… hi perry and thank you.
it is very important to bring truth back into religion.
when we were fighting against apartheid back in the 70s and 80s, a boycott of south africa was encouraged (and eventually implemented).
i went to hear rev desmond tutu speak on the matter. he supported the boycott using roughly the following poignant words, "god is asking you, won't you help me put an end to this abhorrent treatment of my children".
i think you have just helped god with your post.
in friendship,
prad
