"I work for an airline and take all of my own food every time I fly. Even if they did have a vegan option I don't think I would eat it as it would be just cheap rubbish food. Just self cater, all u can't take through international security…"
"Just bring enough fruit on the plane to last you the whole flight. trust me, nobody's gonna stop you if you have an extra bag of bananas in addition to your carry-on. Even if they had a vegan option, airline food is crap anyway. why would…"
So I just booked flights to Thailand with Jetsar Australia. Made a call to the company to organise my meals, to which I was transferred to a call centre outside Australia and was told they don't have a vegan option for us. I was quite surprised as most airlines accomodate, I didn't bother to check before I paid - which probably was my fault but what happens next is what burned me.I them made a casual comment with a friendly demina- "oh wel looks like my 7kg carry on will mostly be good then" ;)…See More
"A quick fix I used and still do is simply replace the meat portion with a can of beans (red kidney, canellini, butter beans for example), or lentils from Woolworths or something.
AKA: rice, beans and broccoli instead of rice beans and chicken…"

I'm considering getting a channel started soon that will revolve around attitudes, vegan eating, and building your body on a clean lifestyle. This is…"
"If your worried about protein intake smash legumes like butter beans and kidney beans which are low in fat. Also breads, grains, seeds. I could easily hit 150g of protein that is 'recommended' by the drones out there in life - however I…"

I am 27 year old male. I started weight training just over a year and a half ago. I ride a fixed gear bike to and from work each day (if I don't walk). Ive been a skateboarder in Adelaide for over 10 years (started about 15). I started really doing cardio and resistance training to look and feel better and i succeeded to some extent. As I reached certain goals my evaluation on health and fitness changed. I even went to look at doing a course at the Australian Institute of fitness however I was put off because of their weak sales pitches and un educated drones that worked there, so i said see ya later.. At this point I was very familiar with what i thought was a good knowledge of health and fitness however something still didn't feel right. Bulking and cutting and supplementing with powders that taste terrible and cost big dollars and listening to peoples conflicting and somewhat hypocritical information was getting a bit annoying and I started to get frustrated at how unsustainable this lifestyle was.
Ive been watching fitness youtubers a lot over the last 24 months, I recently discovered Vegan Gains, through who i discover Durianrider - who resonates a lot more personally with me as he seems to have a similar attitude and outlook towards life as myself. At this stage i was introduced to possibly starting a plant based whole foods lifestyle. I quickly was keen to take it up as i discovered becoming vegan and gaining muscle was more than possible despite the BS that almost every single person for some reason doesn't believe. Ive got a lot of goals and things to get done with this lifestyle however finding like minded people out there is a lot more challenging than lifting dumbbells or riding a bike across australia it seems - hence my reason for signing up here!

Some guidance towards energy output and calories might be helpful specifically however it probably doesn't matter coz im bulked on 4000 cals a day most days. I think the fact that you guys put this together for people to network is a great idea. I think the vegan festival is great and the daily videos is a massive support. The fact that there are people out there like this (passionate and committed is a BIG reason it caught my attention).
