Anyone familiar with oil pulling for natural hygiene?

"I do a lb of greens in my V6 juice that I drink every day in the late morning and early afternoon.  Then I have greens at night in a salad.  I start my fruit meals in the morning and continue that intermittently throughout the day. "

"I prefer to eat greens (particularly celery or lettuce) after my mono-fruitmeals. Teeth feel cleaner and the mouth is re-alkalized of any fruit acids."

"Simple fruit only meals digest slightly better without greens but lettuce and celery combine pretty well with any fruit. If you want a lighter meal in the evening space out your greens with your fruit meals during the day. In any case keep your…"

"I personally don't eat after 9pm, so greens (or sprouts, or overt fats) are a-ok at dinner.  For me, I usually want to snack on fruit shortly after lunch. Greens are great and lovely, but the stomach ache of eating fruit too quickly after…"

Best time to eat your greens???

So I was originally thinking that it'd be best to eat greens mid day to give more time to digest bc I've heard it's best to have as little digestion as possible going on during sleep so that your body can use it's energy for restorative healing uses instead.... But I've noticed a lot of people who are raw tend to eat mono fruit meals during the am and mid day and then save their greens for the pm... I'd be interested to hear everyone's suggestions and reasoning... The goal is optimal digestion!…See More

Anyone familiar with oil pulling for natural hygiene?

So I just came across an article online about the benefits of oil pulling. Basically they recommend swishing a tablespoon or so of sesame oil around in your mouth for 15 - 20 min before brushing with a natural toothpaste because the oil pulls plaque and tartar and bacteria etc from your mouth and then you simply spit out the toxins before they have a chance to enter the rest of your body.... They claim it helps to clean the mouth and whiten teeth in addition to preventing and curing some…See More

I was first introduced to the raw lifestyle 2 yrs ago when i moved to lansdale pa and lived in an apartment on the same block as arnolds way cafe. Arnold took me in and showed me the ropes of the raw world and helped me to detox myself of some ailments of the time. I also met a lot of very interesting and inspiring people. Unfortunately i have found that my life took a detour and i went back to a cooked vegan diet. Even eating what most would consider healthy i still dont feel like im as healthy as i should be. I have been eating a mostly raw diet for the last 2 or 3 months and feeling great. i think that 2 yrs ago i was not at a point in my life where i was ready to embrace this lifestyle. but now i have returned to it with a better perspective and am ready and eager to re embark on this journey to live the pure and vibrant life i was meant to.

Im just looking for friendly guidance. When i first learned about raw food, i was welcomed by many loving and inspiring individuals who have made a lasting impression on me. I did manage to stay on a mainly raw diet for that summer but once fall came around and then winter hit, I struggled to maintain my raw diet without all the delicious summer fruits I had grown to love. This is the hardest part about being raw for me... Maintaining and enjoying the "off season" food. I desperately need help in this department! I dont want to be defined soley by what i eat or dont eat. While it does have a big impact on a persons character, there is still far more to a person. My hope is to find compassionate genuine people who can accept that im not 100% raw but embrace my good intentions and provide support and guidance. I really want to give the raw lifestyle a valiant effort but need some help! I would greatly appreciate any encouraging advice =)

Thanks for friending, Michelle.  Nice to meet you.  I too am high raw but not all, and have had so many amazing results, I just keep wanting to take it further.  I've even had a few all raw days and on those days I feel best (or at least the day after I do). Keep on chatting.

I used to ride all the time as a child and teen, but haven't in years.  Wish I wasn't allergic! - that would probably help.
