Raw adventure is calling me. After 15 years of destroying my health with standard american office work (Software Architecture), I've managed to break free and intend to travel the tropics, make new friends and eat 100% lfrv. My passions are gardening, running, hiking, mt biking, composing music and playing guitar.

Saved up some money while working at mtbr.com. I know more about computers than is healthy for me. I specialize in Linux (Ubuntu/Debian), C++ (gnome), mysql, perl/php/python. In the first 10 years of my corporate slavery I had become a wizard at c# windows programming. If you have problems, ideas, projects dealing with any aspect of computing, I can probably help. My dream is to live abundantly while working remotely somewhere in the tropics ... possibly teaching computer science to the locals... or maybe opening a raw vegan internet cafe/society ... but most likely extending my e-commerce software/consulting business. Banana Snob

I've recently become a banana snob. How did this happen? First off I
ate a home grown "Golden Finger" variety banana picked fresh from the
Vida Clara permaculture farm's food forest. This banana had so many
subtle flavors that it put the ubiquitous store bought Cavendish variety

Last Monday (Sept. 20) I left from Salt Lake City, UT for the Raw Spirit Fest. I passed through Green River, UT known for their famous watermelons. Needless to say I spent a wad of $$$ on some grade A+ melons. Then spent two nights camping under a cliff outcropping in a red rock canyon (Moonflower Campground).

Last weekend I took Mike Arnstien's advice ...

Using google I found two distributors in the Salt Lake City, Utah area. I found two more just keeping my fruity eyes open (a new sixth sense). I emailed those that I found online and asked if they'd be willing to sell bulk produce to an extreme athlete. I also said I'd spend upwards of $100 each week on produce. Only one of them got back to me and I made an appointment.

Yes, I've heard that Belize isn't the worse off in Central America, but even though I've been to India and have seen first hand the extend of desperation our society has reached, it still gets to me. But I guess the only way to go about it is to be the change we want to see! :)

Did you by any chance find anywhere else exciting in Central America?

ALos as a side note (sorry tell me if I'm asking too many questions! ;)) have you been to Australia? I'm looking into it as a possible location to go and get permaculture/eco/autonomous living experience!
