No Bananas Allowed ;)

Ok, so this is slightly humorous haha. We're not gonna focus on hating nanas here, just on sharing our common dislike for them...AND strategies to survive on 811 without nanas, especially when we're without a lotta money, and whatever else...

Hello to all. I'm Melissa. I've been studying raw veganism for about 3 years now. I believe that whole raw ripe organic fresh fruits and veggies is the way to go. I accept everyone and everything for who and what they are and realize that we are all trying our best nonstop. My goal is to be truly happy & healthy: super energized all the time, always feeling my best, and looking, being, and performing to my highest capability. The list can go on. However, I just hope that this low fat raw vegan lifestyle becomes more wipespread. Peace and love to all. I would love to meet you. All I can say is have fun every single day. Eat your favorite fruits and veggies, drink enough water and get enough sleep. I wish the best to all each and every single one of you. And don't be afraid to message me. I would love to hear from all you lovely people. Good luck! =D

p.s. i've known about this website/community for so long. The only thing that kept me from joining was knowing that I'm not exactly a low fat raw vegan yet. I struggle everyday with food addiction and the cravings for junk food it entails. I know what i need to get over that and that is to live and be myself for atleast a month in nature. Hopefully when i graduate highschool (i'm a senior so it wont be long) and i move out i'll be on my own and can do that. Thanks for reading this, you are loved. =D

I realize now that the hardest thing for me is where I'm living. My home environment is terrible and makes it nearly impossible to eat the way I'd like to. I'd like to be 100% HCLFRV all fruits &veg. But certainly this isn't the case. My main focus is getting a job and a car so that I can a)afford to buy my fruit b)use the car to get to the wholesaler c) trying to get the hell as far away from "home" as possible. I wish everyone luck on this journey and be happy to offer my help if you need it. I do some coaching afterall. However, I'm still kinda new to the coaching thing. Well, aloha and good mangoes to you! ^.^

My Top 10 Tips For Going Raw And Staying Raw

Posted on April 11, 2012 at 1:19pm 2 Comments

1]  Try It. In the begining, you're going to want a lot of different foods other than fruit. In the begining, fruit isn't as appealing as all the junk food you've been eating and grown accustomed to your whole life. Before you reach for that junk food, eat some tasty fruit. ALWAYS do this. Have the fruit before you think of eating anything else.

2]  Sleep. Lack of sleep is going to hurt…

1st day buying wholesale! - New Generation Produce

Posted on April 11, 2012 at 12:34pm 0 Comments

Today was the day I have been waiting for for practically 2 years. I finally got to buy cases of fruit from New Generation Produce, a wholesaler in Greenepoint, Brooklyn, NY. It was better than I imagined. Eddy, the guy that runs the place, was so friendly and helpful. He helped me with my purchase of 3 cases of Martha's Best papaya's and 2 cases of Kent mangoes which totaled $42. I know it may not seem like enough fruit (it's supposed to last me 1 week), but I'm really just getting…

Fresh Dates in NYC!!!

Today is my 4th day as a 100% Raw Vegan (coming from a major junk food vegetarian lifestyle of 3.5 yrs). I was on my way home when I stumbled across this little organic deli. In front of the deli they had the usual fruits: plums, oranges, grapes, etc. Then, thankfully, my eyes just so happend to land on something I thought was never sold in NYC because...they never really are.  I had finally met fresh dates for the first time in my life. When I realized I just…

You're coming to Florida in right season. Yes, there are lots of tropical fruits here. If you're okay with conventional fruits, there is a huge farmers market in Plant City (between Lakeland and Brandon), which sells variety of fruits and vegetables by case very inexpensive.

Thanks for offering your advice on high school :)
And I've actually never read Lord of the Rings, just the Hobbit, which I LOVE. I started reading the first book of the series, but I got too busy in school work. I'll definitely try to this summer though :)

Nope, I'm only going to be a Junior in High School, lol. But Lakeland is LOADED with farms, so fresh produce is easy to find. There are plenty of fruit&veg stands that offer very cheap prices; the price for my HCV (mostly raw, but I eat potatoes in the evening) diet only costs ~ $50 per week. :)
On the down side, Lakeland is also loaded with pastures... poor cows )':

Hey! Saw your post on the Florida Community about you going to college in Lakeland. I live there! :)
