1] Try It. In the begining, you're going to want a lot of different foods other than fruit. In the begining, fruit isn't as appealing as all the junk food you've been eating and grown accustomed to your whole life. Before you reach for that junk food, eat some tasty fruit. ALWAYS do this. Have the fruit before you think of eating anything else.
2] Sleep. Lack of sleep is going to hurt…

Today was the day I have been waiting for for practically 2 years. I finally got to buy cases of fruit from New Generation Produce, a wholesaler in Greenepoint, Brooklyn, NY. It was better than I imagined. Eddy, the guy that runs the place, was so friendly and helpful. He helped me with my purchase of 3 cases of Martha's Best papaya's and 2 cases of Kent mangoes which totaled $42. I know it may not seem like enough fruit (it's supposed to last me 1 week), but I'm really just getting…

Fresh Dates in NYC!!!
Today is my 4th day as a 100% Raw Vegan (coming from a major junk food vegetarian lifestyle of 3.5 yrs). I was on my way home when I stumbled across this little organic deli. In front of the deli they had the usual fruits: plums, oranges, grapes, etc. Then, thankfully, my eyes just so happend to land on something I thought was never sold in NYC because...they never really are. I had finally met fresh dates for the first time in my life. When I realized I just…

Cosmic Carrie said… hello Im also in Florida
You're coming to Florida in right season. Yes, there are lots of tropical fruits here. If you're okay with conventional fruits, there is a huge farmers market in Plant City (between Lakeland and Brandon), which sells variety of fruits and vegetables by case very inexpensive.

And I've actually never read Lord of the Rings, just the Hobbit, which I LOVE. I started reading the first book of the series, but I got too busy in school work. I'll definitely try to this summer though :)
Alexandra R. said… Nope, I'm only going to be a Junior in High School, lol. But Lakeland is LOADED with farms, so fresh produce is easy to find. There are plenty of fruit&veg stands that offer very cheap prices; the price for my HCV (mostly raw, but I eat potatoes in the evening) diet only costs ~ $50 per week. :)
On the down side, Lakeland is also loaded with pastures... poor cows )':
Alexandra R. said… Hey! Saw your post on the Florida Community about you going to college in Lakeland. I live there! :)
