I am about to say a nasty word... I was a firm believer in the Atkins diet and I have always avoided fruit due to all the misconceptions and I love fruit, and everyone I knew that was skinny ate a crazy amount of fruit! I became vegan/vegetarian a few months ago and love it but I think i can do more.

I have a tendancy to have issues with too much sugar and diabetes runs in my family, although fruit (i suppose due to the fiber content) always seems to be ok just worried about switching to the higher amounts of it.
I had a Gastric bypass in 2000 I think I would have to eat constantly to get enough calories from fruit because of the size of my stomach (it has stretched a bit in 12 yrs but not back to normal by any means) i could maybe eat 2 bananas in one sitting and thats it. also the surgery alters the way you digest and bypassed the ability to absorb b12 and iron so I give myself b12 injections biweekly
