The BEST pineapple

Just came back from Berkeley Bowl market here in Berkeley California where they have one of the biggest produce sections in the nation. The variety there is AMAZING. Anyway I was having a discussion with my friendly Berkeley Bowl grocer Xavier in regards to the best pineapples right now and we went on to do some taste tests of a few different varieties.Hands down the SWEETEST pineapples to get your munch on with right now are the ones from Costa Rica. And get this, the GREENER the better.…See More

I am GRATEFUL for the abundance of fruit available to me in the Winter and all year round!

Posted on December 15, 2010 at 2:16pm 17 Comments

Today I spent the day running on my elliptical for about 5 miles and working out in my gym and shopping for fruit. It was a great day even though it rained all day. We seem to be getting more than our fair share of rain this Fall/Winter but I cannot complain compared to those poor folks in the mid-west - god bless them.

We have a market in Berkeley, CA called Berkeley Bowl that has THE LARGEST selection of organic produce in the NATION!! No doubt, and I am just now starting to…

OMG! I changed my opinion of Nectarines and Peaches!

Posted on July 6, 2010 at 12:08pm 3 Comments

This Saturday I set out to my local farmer's market, which is a beautiful event near Oakland's Lake Merrit. It was a very beautiful warm day and a glorious 4th of July weekend. I had set out to scout some Peaches & Nectarines!

See, in the past, I never had a fondness for Peaches and Nectarines. But after becoming a fruity one I wanted to give them another chance. I picked up some local, organic Peaches (yellow full ones and white saucer shaped ones) and Nectarines from…

Added a drip irrigation system to my garden this weekend

Posted on May 19, 2010 at 7:30am 1 Comment

I'm just updating my garden as I said I would. Over the weekend, I added a drip irrigation system to my beds. Now I can take off for a few days and not have to worry about my babies being thirsty. Everything is starting to come up nicely. As you can tell from the pics, the snap peas are sprouting pretty fast and my zucchini is coming up pretty fast too as they always do. I'm getting more strawberries which I'm going out to pick after this. I noticed I'm getting a tomato already… Continue

Thanks for sharing with me. I'm curious as to what routes people who have built muscle are going.

I'm a small frame too and going a little below 2,500 works so much better for me too.

Thanks again Maya :)

Thank you so much for the info. It helped a lot.

I'm very petite also and I feel satisfied at about 2,000-2,300 cals of fruit.

So have you tried before eating at least 2,500 calories like it is recommended on here??

Your garden is so inspirational !

Hi Maya Papaya,

I noticed your great physique :)

I am in need of some advice going about building muscle on 811. What type of training are you doing? and how much and what fruits are you eating?

Hi Maya,

I love Brazil! I haven't seen much yet, but so far it is amazing. I'm just worried about the winter which is about to start. It gets kinda cold at nights (59F) :)

I'm here as a permanent immigrant :)

Have you been to Brazil?

Maya,

My preference is probably for Hennessy Hammocks, but the Clark Jungle Hammock is a good product.
