looking for help to be a vegan iron woman!

im happily learning the new role of being divorced, single mother, and gloriously gay.

Also enjoyed discovering that im a very strong athlete, cycling, swimming and new runner. loved every minute of training around 15 hours a week, until i slipped a disc - ooops! now slowly getting back into it, exploring the idea of running barefoot, or minimilist.

would love to get back to my vegan days, if not raw.
i just dont like the idea of having to buy specialist foods to survive. we just cant get hemp protein powder in israel. what is the most natural way to eat and be a champion athlete??????? :)

UPDATE: 9 days 80 10 10 and loving it :)
UPDATE: Mostly raw since Late August. With a few cooked vegan episodes here and there. Learning how to manage the new lifestyle, and feeling that this path that feels best for me.

books: too many to mention all, but currently reading Pronoia - Rob Brezsny, Oceans of energy-Silvia Hartmann, 80 10 10, Project Sanctuary- Silvia Hartmann, just finished Born to run which was very inspiring. love "ask and it is given" - Abraham Hicks
Movies: urrr cant remember, i dont watch much tv, too much time on you tube. i love documentaries.
Pastimes: Cycling road and Mtb, swimming, running, gardening, studying energy psychology, anything finding new things to do or learn about that are exciting different or out of the ordinary.

vegetarian 30 years, mostly vegan for last 10, raw for one, in last year started eating eggs and whey protien. I started started training for half iron man, and was feeling weak. now very unhappy with diet.

Datorade - what an amazing invention!!!! :)

I know that many of the veterens on the site will be well aware of this necter of the gods, but as a baby fruit head,  today was the first day that I only used Datorade as my main source of fuel, for my hard weekend ride with the boys.  (im the only gal in a team of 25 guys).

100 kg of Bananas

I just bought 100kg of bananas for 100 Shekels (27 Us Dollars)!

A guy on my cycling team grows bananas and it was a deal too good to pass up.


7 boxes full! they are still not ripe so will have to stand outside for a bit.


When they ripen I reckon i can finish two boxes or more in a week,  depending on how long they will keep for maybe another crate for the week after.  The rest will have to go in the freezer.


Talk about Banana island,…


Day 10

Im on my 10th day of 100% 80 10 10.  It has been quite easy for me, i didnt have to detox from alcohol, coffee, or wheat  because i didnt used to have those things before. 


i did used to eat quite a lot of chocolate and used to find it hard not to eat at least a couple of hundred calories from it a day.  These 10 days i have not had one single craving for chocolate or anything.  

Ive hardly suffered at all, only been sometimes feeling a bit tired and a bit light…


Morning - day 6 - Smashed my T Pace in Swimming

Wow!  i cant believe it!


Its the morning of day 6 of 80 10 10.  I took a week off from all training because of back pain.  I had already cut down from 15 hours a week to 8.  Anyway I went raw 5 days ago and have had a great week.  Sometimes i had a dizzy spell or sudden energy drop mainly in the early evenings, but they would only last half an hour or so.   I have got better at eating higher numbers of fruit in one go, though to get down 10 bananas, i have found blending them…
