Honeydew Heavan

I just have to share that I had the BEST honeydew melon this morning.  Usually, picking a ripe honeydew melon from the grocery store is a disaster - they're hard, not even sweet, and definitely not juicy.  And I don't find out until I've bought the thing and opened it.  Well, I finally got a good one.  It melted in my mouth.  My husband did quite understand my enthusiasm, so I had to share it here.  When you find a ripe heavenly fruit, it makes you wish you had bought more than one.  Dang it!See More

"Ditto with the papaya!  I discovered these huge ones at my local grocery store, and they're so ripe and juicy.  I'm having mine with strawberry slices (another favorite fruit)."

My goal in eating is to be as healthful as possible while following my morals regarding the treatment of animals...but I wasn't always this way. I became an ovo-lacto vegetarian back in 2001 after investigating what turkeys went through to become my Thanksgiving meal. I remained a "pop tart" junk food vegetarian until 2007, when I stumbled upon Isa Chandra Moskowitz' vegan cookbooks and realized veganism wasn't impossible or boring. I couldn't rationalize eating animal byproducts when vegan alternatives were available. I delved into vegan cooking...but after the birth of my daughter in 2011, I quit cooking altogether because I had no leisure time. Then I decided to get a juicer because I'd always wanted to try it out...that has led me on the journey here, and to Dr. Graham's book. I'm looking for support as I take the steps toward a lowfat vegan life.

Please tell us about your dietary inclinations:
I really want to be HCRV and just need some guidance
Reading "The 80-10-10 Diet" by Dr Doug Graham is vital for succeeding on this lifestyle. Please acquire this book as soon as possible.
I will read the book again!!
Are you Connected?
yes i am
My favourite books/movies/authors/pastimes are....
Before I had my daughter, I loved to run, practice taekwondo, yoga, lift weights, read, cook, attend vegan potlucks, ride my bike. Now, all I have time for is work, an occasional walk, occasional reading, and some gardening. Just finished reading 80/10/10 and don't know what I'll read next.
Durianrider & Freelee started this site to bring together high carb, raw vegan lifestylists' across the Globe! 30bad is a high standard and high performance team! We're here to help you make our team! Let us know what HCRV assistance do you need?
I really just need support. I don't know many vegans, let alone HCRVs. I'd also love to try some new "recipes".
30bad is a HCRV (high carb, raw vegan) internet community which promotes a high carb raw lifestyle free of any animal products. Our forum does not tolerate encouragement of anything contrary to HCRV. Nor do we allow endorsement of non-vegan items or practises which involve the imprisonment, exploitation, abuse or murder of sentient beings. We also require our members to post with proper netiquette. Therefore, please indicate your intention:
I will comply because I like totally agree with all this
