My nickname is Veggie...the girls at work thought it was fitting since I didn't necessarily want to be called a fruit lol ;) Anyway, I embarked on a vegan journey after suffering from disordered eating and found that it gave me a great deal of peace to know that I was no longer contributing to the needless suffering of animals. It also prompted me to eat healthier and to try several foods I had never before eaten. Eventually I began training for my first marathon and came across Brendan Brazier's book, Thrive. I found it highly interesting and attempted to integrate those principles in my diet. The Thrive diet however, was proving to be too complicated for my taste, and I felt the need to move toward a more raw lifestyle. I slowly began giving up cooked vegan food and eventually happened upon 80 10 10. I found Freelea on youtube and was fascinated by her progress and immediately came to 30bad. Now I am here seeking all the advice and knowledge I can get my hands on!

I will comply because I like totally agree with all this
Laura, try eating four celery ribs for each quart of orange or tangerine juice. Also, I have found that eating most of my nanas instead of blending them is better. These methods slow down assimilation properly. Or should I say that smoothies and juice encourage insulin spikes and thus your body stores the fast calories as fat. We all know that the belly is the first place that the body stores it. -Chris
For sure, our goal is to have such meetups regularly. Next time then!
Glad you're finding yourself at home here. Certainly different from Montana, but it has it's own perks. Not that they haven't moved it or perhaps its seasonal there, but I found the durian at the CCCin a little icecream-type cooler right in front of the information counter to the right of the checkout stations as you walk in. I was thinking of stopping in there again soon, but maybe I'll call now to confirm their stash.
