Don Bennett said… Dried, ripe fruit is probably preferable to unripe non-dried fruit. Just make sure you are appropriately hydrated before eating dried fruit. And, if you can, soak dried fruit for a while before eating it; this rehydrates it. A "salad" of greens does not contain much in the way of calories, so if you were hungry for fuel, greens are not going to satisfy your body. Dates are good go-to fruit; they are not considered dried fruit, and can keep for a while if sealed in a Zip-loc bag with the air drawn out. So you can have a bag of about six of them in your desk at work at all times (replacing the bag with a new batch every so often).
