Hello everyone,
I'm currently 18 years old and have been a vegetarian for about a year and a half now. I've been slowly transitioning to veganism for several months and have been completely vegan for the past few weeks! I'm really interested in becoming a HCRV but I feel like my family is holding me back a bit. My parents are worried that I'm not getting the protein, vitamins and such that I need. I know this lifestyle is healthy and I've tried explaining it to them but they seem to be stuck in all of the nutrition information they have gotten from magazines and other media. Anyways, I go off to college next month and want to start out the semester as a HCRV. I've been eating raw breakfast, usually a raw lunch and snack, and then a cooked vegan dinner.

Well, my family doesn't really agree with my lifestyle choice but I think once I start to look and feel amazing they will not be so opposed to it. Also, I'm really looking forward to being able to be a HCRV in college but I don't know if it will be difficult to have enough fruits and vegetables around since I'll only have a mini fridge :/ One last thing, what do you do when you have cooked food cravings? I know that eating more fruit is supposed to help but sometimes it just doesn't sound good.

Hello!  You already look amazing!  But I know going HCRV will only make things better.  I am new at too and learning as I go.  I know you can do it.  You can make it work.  It is tough when the family is against your lifestyle on top of the rest of society not understanding it and therefore, feeling threatened by it.  Stay strong and make some HCRV friends asap!  Remember you are beautiful and deep inside you deserve the right to make these  decisions.
