Zoe Malone said… Hi! Was the Plantar Fascitis discussion taken down? I can't find it. When I try to click on the link in my email saying I got a response, I just get a 'not found' message:
If you have a sec, would you mind posting a link to the discussion on my profile?

Don Bennett said… Bacteria can produce a range of vitamin K2 forms, and can convert K1 (found in a plant-based diet, leafy greens. kiwi, and grapes to be specific) to K2 in the small intestines. This is another reason I advise taking a good probiotic after a course of antibiotics to help refloristate the gut.
So for those not cooking their food, and not ingesting things that disrupt normal gut flora, like garlic, spicy foods, alcohol, coffee, tea, etc, we'll be okay on all the K's (barring any intestinal disorders). Vitamin D however, although just as important as K for bone health, is the nutrient that many people tend to be deficient in, and because it doesn't come from the diet, this is why I harp on it, as in this article.
