I am a full-time athlete at the USA Olympic Training Center in Colorado. I train over 35 hours a week in the sport of Modern Pentathlon and currently ranked #1 in the US. As a result eat a lot of fruit! After living in Cali and having fresh local fruits all year it's hard to readjust to imported bananas and other not so fresh or ripe looking fruit, but the opportunity to train here and work towards a future Olympic games is amazing.
My wife and I have been Veg for over 20 years each and started doing "the raw thing" 8 years ago. As athletes our performances have only improved and it's hard to believe more people don't live like this. We are the proud parents of little girl who we delivered ourselves, and has been as healthy and big as can be!
In the past I've made my living as a bassoonists in orchestras, massage therapy, track & XC coach, preschool teacher, bicycle courier and more.

Durianrider & Freelee started this site to bring together high carb, raw vegan lifestylists' across the Globe! 30bad is a high standard and high performance team! We're here to help you make our team! Let us know what HCRV assistance do you need?
The more I know, the more I know I don't know. Every time I meet, speak, or read something from another person I learn. I especially love doing so from healthy energetic people!
30bad is a HCRV (high carb, raw vegan) internet community which promotes a high carb raw lifestyle free of any animal products. Our forum does not tolerate encouragement of anything contrary to HCRV. I will comply despite some disagreement since I am a team player

Hey miss you too man! I get pretty lonely round here sometimes these days. I'll come down maybe December or January when I'm jonesin' for a decent winter farmers market. I heard you got engaged. Congrats. Let me know when/where the wedding is and I'll bet there if you want me to come. I'd love to come.
hey justin, was checking out the raw runners site you started.
i will join, but heard that Ning is going to allow shared profiles on various ning network sites, so when this is in place I will put up my profile that is on my club website (which i just started myself recently vctconline.com)
"Training with heart rate zones as a guide can be great. However, anything correlating age with any kind of ideal heart rate zones is junk. It is nothing more than a guess based on averages.
2 athletes of the same age and fitness can be in the…"
If you run early mornings consider just drinking a little water and heading straight out the door without eating. To me it feels great running on an empty stomach and breakfast tastes that much better. I personally feel comfortable…"
Good for you training for a 1/2 and a full marathon. How long are your long runs now? Honestly, unless you are going 2+ hours or it's extremely hot where you are I'd recommend keeping it simple. In terms…"
"Usually a bunch of fruit until im satisfied. then once Im hungry again I eat more if I need to. On a typical day I run only 1 hour, but put in 2-5 hours more exercise in other sports. Perhaps you just need to adapt to…"
"Sorry to be late to the party, but as a full time athlete I hope I can offer some good advice, as we are always on the verge of doing too much (and often do!).
First, it may not be PF. This doesn't mean it feels good or isn't an…"
"My 2 cents on both your violin bow and veganism in general. These thoughts evolved over 20 years as a musician and veg.
I do understand that to label oneself vegan is to exclude the consumption of and use of any animals or products.…"
"MY best advice is make sure they are ripe, and if so don't eat them skin first. Peel them open in half, turn them inside out, and put them in your mouth flesh side first. Much like grass, if you look at fig skin up close it is quite…"
"Don't force yourself to just use your mouth or nose while exercising. You'll naturally (if you don't think about it), breath through both simultaneously. Shallow breathing is not good, though this doesn't mean…"
"If you are good for 8 miles with no food, take your best guess at how you'll be for another 5 or so. Bonking a mile or 2 out isn't so bad, but any more can be quite unpleasant! Personally, I loathe carrying food or water with…"
Run as much as you like. 2 a days, and even 3 a days are great so long as you're enjoying it. The benefits of splitting up the runs are being able to cover the milage at a slightly higher tempo, and getting in a few more miles.…"
"JT, you may be predisposed to carry a little more body fat than other athletes at your level. Remember Hopley? He would tell me he was only riding only 1-2 times per week and didn't race anymore, yet he still maintained a super ripped lean…"
"Kidneys, Adrenals are definatley A-OK, along with my lymphatic system. Thyroid I can't say for sure, but I will look into it. It seems if anything, it would be Hypothyroidism, buti don't really fit the bill for symptoms, other than easy…"
"Thanks for the suggestion Sofie. We do intervals of some sort during about 8 training sessions a week. Sometimes super short and intense, sometimes longer endurance, or speed endurance sets.
I will say though this is one of the possibilities…"
"have you tested your thyroid and adrenals? kidneys also play a vital role together with lymph system. Im not sure if its fat or just water and stuff that is hindering you. Thyroid, adrenals and kidneys plays a vital role in that. In terms of…"
"you probably know a lot more than me about training, but do you do high intensity interval training?
a lot of people say they have gotten really ripped results from this even after years of training and dtill being a bit fluffy. at 8% body fat man…"
