Hi everyone! I am very new to the raw movement. Only became vegan this past Febuary. Now I am anxious to feel as great as it seems you can on 811, but I am struggling. I stay strong until dinner…Continue
"Hi there !
I am new too and I have been struggling a lot with the same problem you are having. I kept eating more fruit and the cooked food in my diet slowly but surely loses its attraction, please hang on there, don't get disheartened and keep…"
"Interestingly - I have the same issue. Just raw dates eaten plain seem like a very sweet candy to me and I can only "stomach" a few of them at a time.
Blended into date-o-rade however, with the water, it comes out kind of like a…"
"Ya man - this is an issue - you're right - basically - cooked vegan foods and raw vegan foods do NOT sit in the gut together well ( except for raw salads - they seem to go fairly well with cooked food ). So what one needs to do if they…"
"Eat more! :)Aim for around 2500 calories each day. Bananas are a good staple, especially if you're short on money, but remember the other fruits too. I get in tons of calories by juicing oranges/grapefruit in the morning (leaving the pulp…"
"I've been scared to make a date-o-rafe because it seems like SO MUCH sugar. I get the feeling it will go straight to my head and give me a whopping headache. Just eating 3 dates makes me feel what seems like over-sugared. Not sure if this is…"
"Yeah... 700 calories is significant under-eating. Explain what you mean by, "I felt like I was going to jump out of my skin."
Lots of energy? Skin was itchy? Stomach hurt? I'm scared to eat that much?"
"LOL! I did not mean to write crazy "string" cravings! I meant to write "strong", although if you do indeed feel the sudden, overwhelming need to eat yarn or something, you probably need more calories! ;)Great! I'm happy to…"
"Thanks for the add Julie! :)OK, what is going to be crucial for you, in order to settle at the correct weight for you, is getting data! It is far too easy to under eat, feel all sorts of cravings and have the percentage of calories from fat too high…"
"Despite the fact that almost all of the publicity you hear about this diet seems to be of the "100% raw ! or bust" variety, there actually is a lot of evidence out there that people can make fantastic improvements in their health by even…"
"Most people can't do an overnight transition, mainly because they need time to build the stomach capacity to get in enough calories by dinner time. Take your time. Eat raw for dinner when you can, and the rest of the time do your…"

I have struggle to be thin, have energy, be adventurous my whole life! 5 months ago I became vegan and I feel great! But I still weigh the same so what the f***? I run 4 miles 3 times a week, do plyometrics, and am a massage therapist.

Great! I'm happy to help and there area ton of people here with all sorts of knowledge/experience, which is really what it's all about! :)
OK, what is going to be crucial for you, in order to settle at the correct weight for you, is getting data! It is far too easy to under eat, feel all sorts of cravings and have the percentage of calories from fat too high and not loose weight WHILE EATING HEALTHY! WTF indeed! :) I've been there and I know it's damn frustrating! But although some of what is recommended here may seem counter-intuitive to you at first, give it a chance it really does work.
First thing, go to: http://cronometer.com/ and sign up so you can start logging all your food that you eat, cheat or not! If there's something that you can not find in the database, it easy enough to Google that food find the information and create a custom food entry in Cronometer.
to get the "lay of the land" here and also to see what is recommended, like shooting for 2500+ calories a day for females. Don't get too overwrought, it may be tough to get in that many calories at first, but work on it and keep logging! If you have low energy, bad mood or crazy string cravings, eat more calories! Also, drink LOTS of water so you have to pee an annoying amount. And work on getting to bed early and getting a lot of good solid sleep (that's one of the things I have a hard time with), it really does make a big difference, esp in weight loss.
LOL! Sorry for the book comment! Are you sorry you friended me yet? ;)
