Julie replied to Alena's discussion Good Juicer for greens and vegetables? Recommendations PLEASE!
"ahh this is really making me want to get an Omega 8006. I got a cheap $50 GE juicer from Walmart a couple months ago and its terrible.  All that comes out is foam! I was thinking maybe all juicers did that but I guess not."

Day 4

Ive eaten completely raw fruit/vegetable for the past 4 days :) When I cut out all animal based and processed products 3 weeks ago, before I found out about 80/10/10 and knew it was ok to eat a lot of fruit, I was miserable because I wasn't getting enough calories and was probably detoxing. I feel so much better now that Ive been eating enough and I dont feel deprived at all. Now that I think about it I havent had a craving for crappy food the past few days either, I was having a ton of those a…See More

Julie replied to Brian's discussion I think I'm hurting my teeth :(
"If you eat sticky dates and do not brush your teeth for a long while the salivary amylase (the digestive enzyme in your mouth that breaks down sugar/carbs) will hang around and wreak havoc. I have also heard many times not to brush right after…"

Day 2

So I made it all of yesterday and today so far with only raw fruit/greens, yay! Im feeling pretty good, and honestly after watching so many documentaries (Food Inc, forks over knives, etc) and seeing how disgusting and unhealthy most other food is, I haven't had the desire for it. Its absolutely unbelievable how uninformed the majority of us are growing up and throughout our lives. Eating more than one piece of fruit in a sitting is a totally foreign concept to most people, but it is…See More

Day 1 :)

For the past 2 weeks I have completely cut out meat based, wheat, caffeine and sugar products but have been having cooked vegetables, more nuts/seeds than I probably  need, and some tofu. I have been so encouraged by how much better I continue to feel everyday, not only physically but definitely mentally/emotionally. Today I am going to begin trying 100% high carb raw vegan since it completely makes sense to me and there are no excuses for me not to. This morning I threw a bunch of oranges in…See More

I am 25 years old and consider myself to be quite unhealthy. Over the past two years I have gained a ton of weight along with constant fatigue. Over 6 months ago I went to the doctor about this and they informed me I was suffering from hypothyroidism and put me on medication. However, every few months when I get my blood work done again the doctor says my thyroid levels are still low and ups my medication. This has been going on for some time now, and I am beyond frustrated with the constant fatigue and other symptoms. I stumbled upon information about the raw lifestyle on line a couple of weeks ago and have been fascinated. Everyday for the past couple of weeks I find myself researching more about raw veganism. I am now convinced that my terrible diet has been to blame for my health problems. I am really desperate to feel healthy and energetic so for the past couple weeks I have stumbled along, only eating raw fruits and vegetables. I already feel better and have lost weight, but I have a long way to go.
