I have 4 kids and they are all so much happier when they are eating 811! Fortunately as kids the other health factors fall into place pretty easily, at least for my kids, enough sleep and plenty of exercise, emotional poise, and sun. they definitely do better when they get to sleep close to sundown and I do have to make sure they are doing vigorous activities, track, soccer, etc. It's amazing what a difference that makes, last summer they were doing vigorous activities all day every day for a couple of months and they were so happy and calm and clear thinking, they ate better too, only wanted fruits and veggies, never asked for junk. We had a bad cold during this time and the 2 boys who were doing all this activity never had one symptom. To get them on raw, I have gone two ways, throw out all cooked food and laid down the law, lol. This works if the timing is right. I have also gone the route of serving fruit for every meal. I become a full time chef! :) For instance, if there are 6 apples sitting there they may not even touch it but if I make apple sauce, they will scarf it down immediately! As they get used to being on raw, they will start initiating their own raw meals. If they ask for pasta or something I say sure, we'll have that for dinner and then I make apple sauce right before dinner is ready so they aren't that hungry and then they will usually take a few bites of pasta and then be done or ask for some of the mango I just cut up. ;) You get the idea! :) Best wishes to you, this way of eating can be hard but it will save your life and quality of life!
