Calorie restriction or exessive consumption. Is there a universal formula?

Guys, I was originally attracted to this website because it promotes a healthy lifestyle, exercise, low fat and frutarianism.  I did read Dr. Graham's book. However, there is one thing I cannot blindly agree and I am looking for some input from you. Why 3000 calories? Why counting calories? What about people who do not exercise? From my personal experience I feel better listening to my own body when eating fruits rather than counting calories and eating when not hungry. Am I different?

Hi Julia,

I think this is a fair comment, I certainly agree that exercise is an essential component to a healthy lifestyle, but a lot of LFRV seem to be younger and way more energetic ie marathon runner and elite athletes. I personally become raw @54 I do go to the gym 3x per week and walk every other day for about approx an hour, I do surf when I am in Hawaii for 3 months every winter - my endless summer. I have based my calories around what suits my body and maintains a weight that I am happy with.  I am so loving this LFRV lifestyle and cannot see myself changing from this. I to eat when I am hungry and simply love the fact that I can immerse myself in all this glorious fruity foods. LOL Roslyn Fruit Fairy
