Hi, Nice to be here.  I've been raw since April and LFRV for about 6 weeks. I've lost 24 lbs and dropped my cholesterol by 20 points. When my doctor saw my test results, he said, "Tell your wife I…Continue

Women and 80/10/10

My sister in law maintains that women have different nutritional needs than men, and that those needs vary from woman to woman. This would be contrary to what Dr. Graham says. So I am wondering what women here have to say about how going 80/10/10 has affected their issues surrounding menstruation and especially if someone who has had menopausal issues resolved or changed has anything to say.Thanks.See More

A friend turned me on to green smoothies in April 2012. I started in taking them every day. I naturally began to become averse to meat and dairy as a result and dropped them off pretty rapidly. What was wonderful about that was that it wasn't a decision I imposed on myself through some idea, but rather it just was my body telling me what felt right and what didn't. The next step was reading Dr. Graham's 80/10/10 Diet. Still not quite all the way there with right food combining etc., but I already feel so much better. My cholesterol has dropped off 20 points. I lost 24 pounds. My wife was worried that I was eating too much fruit. When my doctor saw my test results, he said, "Tell your wife I said you can eat all the fruit you want." And that's just what I intend to do.

At first I was eating traditional raw, which became old very quickly as it is too high in fat and too crazy difficult to prepare. I also still felt bloated, but less so than on my previous meat based diet. I need to make sure I'm getting enough calories and need to get comfortable with mono fruit meals which I haven't yet had the courage to tackle. Need to get more consistent with exercise & working out. I'll be 65 in December.
