Drunk off of Mangoes?

Started this discussion. Last reply by RawForSure Jul 14, 2010. 4 Replies

I had some ripe mangoes last night, smell sweet, but I ate it, it was "sweet and sour". Not sour like it wasn't ripe, it was totally soft to the touch. I look in the mirror 10 mins later and my face…Continue

Dear Raw Vegans,I recently bought some ripe conventional bananas (Dole label) because I ran out of my usual organic ones (Dole label), and notice the foul smell inside the core of them. I never…Continue

"You need time to transition into this diet. Alot of people find it easier to go vegeterian first, then vegan, then raw vegan. I did this and I transition to LFRV it was a lot easier. If you going from cooked meat and pasta and straight into 80 10…"

I tossed my avocado in the trash can!!!

Posted on August 15, 2010 at 4:52pm 4 Comments

I try to eat an avocado today after not having one for almost 3 wks, and its amazing how fatty it really is. I ate a quarter of it with my salad and tossed the rest away. My body seems to not want much fats now. I also had a little rice with steamed veggies and coconut oil (I usually do okay if I don't put on the oils as I sometimes still eat a little rice), and my heart started racing so fast, I had to call in work sick today. I was stumbling literally down the stairs to get to my car. And… Continue

Craving raw foods after eating cooked foods!

Posted on July 30, 2010 at 7:52pm 2 Comments

As I sit here I realize how ridiculous and funny my transition to raw foods is becoming. I was having strong cravings for cooked noodles today, so I had some. But now all I can think about is wishing that my stomach was empty so I can down a 10 banana smoothie LOL!!

Losing my salt cravings

Posted on July 30, 2010 at 7:43pm 4 Comments

I haven't been completely 80 10 10 the last 3 days. I don't however feel discouraged. I had a couple bowls of quinoa noodles with a ton of veggies and sprouts today but I find that my salt cravings are going away. I use to eat alot of seaweed and use lots of sea salt while I eat things like this. But tonight, I almost forgot I had it when it was right next to me. I feel very good about this.

On my way to becoming a true frugivore!!

Posted on July 17, 2010 at 4:59pm 0 Comments

I set a new record today 19 bananas baby!!! 7 plums, 1lb of cherries, haha my stomach is pretty big right now :) And I still want to eat a salad later tonight.

No worries, Jet. Glad you found it useful. Lots of people eat large quantities of tomatoes when on the 80/10/10 diet, as they compensate for some cravings and provide lots of good nutrients, especially in the dinners. I myself eat tomatoes every single day, so I was also glad to read this! Quite scary about the OGMs...

My fear is that ill never be able to even attempt to put cooked food into my body with out having a huge reaction.

thank you soo much for the support you dont know how much it means! Have you been able to incorporate other foods back into you diet? Or are you afraid of the outcome? How long did it take you? My doctor also said i have Candida which is when you eat too much sugar so i dont know. I've been on this diet going on 3 weeks and i'm still skeptical. There are some days when i dont even leave my room! I feel your pain! I'd like to learn more about what you did and how you feel! Thanks soo much!

Jet-

Oh my goodness...my 811 lifestyle? UGH! It has been one of the most frustrating experiences while I have lived in Seoul. Please don't get me wrong, I LOVE Korea...I actually love living here so much that I don't know if I'll ever go back to the US to live, but my 811 diet has crashed.. and failed. I still have been able to maintain my 100% vegan lifestyle, but veganism has also been frustrating.

It is not that I have a lack of vegan...or raw foods... (in fact, I have a pretty awesome fruit stand right outside of my apartment building), what I have trouble with is the social aspect. Most people here (at least that I have encountered in the last 18 mon) have no idea what a vegan diet is... or they believe that any form of "vegetarian" should still eat chicken and seafood.
At first, I was embarrassed because so many people would give me a hard time in thinking that I was overwhelmingly strange and "unhealthy" (haha). However, I have gotten over feeling embarrassed, and I have learned to take pleasure in the fact that I'm different. My struggle with the social aspect is that whenever I am out with people, the majority of those that I am with take EXTREME offense that I am not eating everything on the table. I can kind of explain myself in Korean, but I hate feeling so ostracized and disliked over my food choices. Some people accept that I am vegan...but even that has been a hassle (but I will never ever EVER deter from veganism. Meat and animal byproducts are absolutely sickening to think of). On my own, I just try to do the best that I can and adhere to 811...

I don't beat myself up over it anymore, I just have accepted my current place in life. I believe that my overall transition through becoming vegetarian 7 years ago, then vegan, and then striving for a fruitarian lifestyle is a process in which I am evolving.

Wow, Jet, that's incredible! I've never had a kundalini experience, but I can relate to everything you shared. Our circumstances are similar about growing up with the SAD diet.

I love Dr. Wayne Dyer, The Power Of Intention is one of my favorites. It's wonderful how much Isha has helped you too. It certainly has changed me for the better in so many ways.

Yes, I play guitar and sing. You should definitely pick up the guitar again, if you're so inclined. Creativity is our nature. It's also very healing.

Thank you for sharing your experience at BSP with me. So great to hear. I've had those beautiful, emotional releases several times. They're so bizarre to me, how they just come out of nowhere. I'm looking forward to going to BSP someday soon. Nice to know there's a Whole Foods near by, on the way in.

I'm not quite sure how I became a seeker. I was raised in a moderately strict Catholic home but when I was 12, my best friend invited me to her nondenominational church, which was so different. The energy was so much lighter and brighter. Not long after that, I began investigating other avenues of spirituality and it's just never stopped. I always had a hard time with the contradictions of religion.

When I was younger, I could never really get into reading books. There were a few that I got into but, I never really enjoyed reading until I started reading about spirituality, metaphysics and the like. It all resonates so deeply with me.

How about you?
