- Crime and Punishment and 1984 but I have to seriously catch up on my reading. I love Kubrick movies, Zoolander and Never Been Kissed are my indulgences for nostalgic reasons. I go through film fazes, and am currently into documentaries (mostly about government conspiracy, food politics, corruption... the usual)

- I've been having the WORST time battling candida with a strict no sugar diet (including fruit.) What resulted was binges on vegan cookies and everything BUT fruit. Somewhere in my gut I knew something just wasn't quite right. "Thankfully" when I accidentally had dairy and was sick to the point of near dehydration, my instincts had me back to loading up on bananas and coconut water. I felt better than I had in weeks. Which ultimately lead me to finally exploring 811 and being blown away by yet another step towards health. I swear I learn something new everyday. I'm beyond happy that I can not only return to eating fruit which was what was just killing me before, but that eating the way I actually want to will cure the candida I've had for years. So there's my little story... I still struggle with cravings but I suspect they will decrease as I settle back into how I know I should and want to be eating.

Not all peaches and cream!
So I've been a little reluctant to write a blog post just because I haven't been very motivated and not feeling amazing. It's day 4 of 100% 811.
Pros:
Digestion is getting slightly better
I'm getting better at mono mealing
Cons:
Acne, acne, acne
Bloating - I think I've even gained weight
Cravings.. (that one I'll just have to get over)
Banana island makes me really sleepy.. what?!

Quick intro!
Hey everyone - I'm a newbie so I thought I'd just throw out an intro - hopefully I'll be able to add some decent discussion to the forum. I'm blown away that such a place exists... a place where we can discuss true health without fake politeness & handholding?? Haha, it's great thought. - Too bad. It's unfortunate we can't hang out over break. I normally buy some bananas at Strawberry fields and the occasional greens, mostly because they taste better. Apples are pretty cheap there too now. I do most of my shopping at County Market because it's near my house and they have good deals sometimes. I get my exotic fruit at the Asian market on the corner of 3rd and Clark. Right now they have great priced persimmon. They also sometimes have mango, durian, lychee, rambutan, apple bananas, etc. all very reasonably priced. This diet isn't as cheap as PB and J, but it's not that much more once you get used to it.
