Well it is now the end of day 26 and things are just going very smoothly now. There are no cravings now. My energy levels are very stable from the get go till sleep. I am very much calmer mentally, more aware of things, and controlling of my what use to seem like plain reactions to things happening. Averaging close to 3000 or a bit over calories a day.The red vein like things in my eyes have faded considerable the bags I had under my eyes have reduced alot. I sleep more and it doesnt bother…

I am up to my 11th straight day here and it has been easy flying. Right now my heart doesn't hurt but I could feel it as if something was moving through/around it. I was wondering if it was plaque caused by lipoprotien (aka LDL cholesterol) from the bad days moving around (yikes).
Anyway my energy is up up! I have been uping the calorie intake and although I don't deliberately count everything it holds between 2000-3000 a day. It is 9:30 pm and I am considering going to a few…

This is my 9th day 100% raw. I have been building up over the months leading up to this being 60-90% raw. I tried cold turkey first but the so called detox symptoms were too heavy and I was working at the same time so I took it back a notch and built up to it. Now my worst detox symptom is that I'm itchy, everything else has been uphill, even lost 7 kilos of visceral fat (the type the builds up around your organs) and water just in the build up and I am already slim.
As I…

Jared Six said… I aim for about 5,000 calories a day, however, it did take time for my appetite to increase to where I could comfortably do that. Anyone who is into bodybuilding (regardless of diet) and wants to get bigger can't afford to take on the habit of skipping meals or eating light. Believe me, if you push yourself hard with weights you will naturally want to eat more calories and drink more water. (I just got finished with a leg workout and although it only lasted an hour I drank 2 liters of water during that hour because I was sweating so much and breathing so heavily that I was extremely thirsty.)
Usually I try to do at least 2 major lifts for each body part. For quads I would do barbell squats and leg presses and for chest I would do a flat bench press with dumbbells and then some incline bench presses with a barbell. I wouldn't suggest doing 4 or 5 exercises for 1 body part. Less can mean a lot more if you are just doing a handful of really tough exercises and you put everything that you have into them.
I usually do 3 sets per exercise. If it's a leg workout I will aim for 20 reps, but if it's an upper body exercise I will only do somewhere between 6 and 10 reps. It basically depends on how strong I feel that day...
There are so many factors that can have a positive or negative effect on your ability to lift such as the time of day, how well you slept the night before, if you already spent 8 hours that day working at a job that requires a lot of physical labor, etc. I would encourage you to find a time of day that is really good for you to be lifting and to also of course make things like getting enough sleep, calories, and water a priority.
Jared Six said… Hello Jay, the main lifts that I do are in the video I made. I do a 4 day split where I work chest and triceps one day, back and biceps another day, then have a shoulders day, and then have a day just for legs. I take days off whenever I feel like it rather than have set days off.
I didn't read any books on the subject so I can't really recommend any. I did however watch a lot of YouTube videos on how to lift properly and I would encourage you to do so as well.
If you have any more questions I'd be happy to answer them :)
