I would say make sure your getting enough calories from fruit. Keep fruit constantly ripening in different stages, that way you will never run out of ripe fruit. Go for calorie dense fruits like banana and date as your staple.…"

I have been vegan for close to a year now but the more I read and watch on the 80/10/10 diet, makes me want to go this route a.s.a.p
I already implement lots of fruit, water, sleep into my lifestyle but feel I just need some more assistance to make to jump into the 80/10/10 world.

I'm still a little unsure on how to count my carb/calorie intake and would love to learn what are the most calorie dense fruit out there (that is obtainable in Australia)

Hey James, Cool to see Melbourne on the rise with health conscious vegans. Brunswick, beauty. I live in Thomastown, not the most beautiful, but I dig it anyway. Yeah there are tons of places to check out for fruit. Depends what you are going for though. For rarer exotic tropical fruits check out asian grocers on Victoria Street Richmond, or Springvale, or Footscray . Go trekking around and you'll find heaps of them, there is even a massive wharehouse type market there which when I was there was just mangoes, mangosteen, rambutans and lychees layed out it hundreds of crates.... different times of year you'll find crazy delicious fruits that make your eyes boggle. Preston market is an all rounder, they have organics, asian grocer and conventional. You can get some good deals there sometimes. I like vic market, I wish it was at my end of the train line though. Ceres has a good range of organic produce year round and Naturally on High (Thornbury) is probably the cheapest organics around. While you can get dirt cheap deals at those greengrocers along sydney road. There are a couple of organic grocers on smith street and if you want luxury top notch organics delivered to your door, my friend Nicci has a business... http://www.missorganic.com.au
I really enjoy the farmers markets that are on each weekend. The Collingwood Childrens Farm Farmers market: which is the 2nd Sat of each month. So next weekend. Its huge and if you go, check out the citrus guy who sells Satsumas. So good you could live on them. It gets really awesome during summer, with figs, plums, apricots, grapes, nectarines, heirloom tomatoes etc. Not the cheapest, but doesn't compare to anything else. http://www.whitehat.com.au/Default.html tells you all the markets around melbourne on whatever day you choose...

Go for calorie dense fruits like banana and date as your staple. Exercise, eat,sleep,water,sun, and most important...enjoy my friend because you deserve the best that life can bring. I think your doing great! Good attitude will take you far.
Thank you for commenting back so soon :) I appreciate it. i have been eating low fat raw vegan for about a month now and i feel like a completely new person. i have so much more energy, my skin is so clear! and i can notice my clothes are getting looser. its like a new adventure for me, to see what happens to my body from day to day. i have never experienced anything quite like this before and i know this is the way human are suppose to eat. i have also been a follower of Durianrider and freelee they are the ones who really hit it home for me. this community is awesome from what i can see so far i've really enjoyed the energy here :)
