Our community would be delighted to know you better. Please tell us more about yourself and what brought you to 30BaD. Detailed responses will only be accepted (feel free to reapply with more detail if at first not approved as a member). We suggest you pick a name other than your own if you want to maintain anonymity.: I've been vegan since April 2011. I was treating my body like crap up until then and realized I needed to make a change in my life quickly. Not only was I overweight but my health started to go south. I was not feeling well at all and having gone from doctor to doctor who kept telling me I was "fine" I realized it was going to be up to me if I wanted to start feeling well again. Majority of doctors are so stupid it's ridiculous.

I have a vegetarian/mostly vegan friend that piqued my interest at the time and I started researching veganism and somehow arrived at Earthlings. I watched it from start to finish and that was it for me. Went vegan overnight for the animals, the planet and my body.

Since then I've gone from vegan cooked to about half cooked / half raw gourmet then low fat cooked vegan then a mix of low fat cooked + raw and now I'm trying to be 80/10/10. I've lost almost 50 lbs in total throughout my whole journey which is great but unfortunately I still have some health issues I'm dealing with and hoping I can repair the damage of the past. I know it will take time.

I believe I found 30BAD after seeing one of Freelee's videos and/or reading her thread over at rawfoodtalk. I was like OK this chick seems pretty cool and fit but totally crazy! Who the heck eats 30 bananas a day?? CRAZY PEOPLE THAT"S WHO!

But then, the more I researched the more it made sense to me. So here I am :D

My favourite books/movies/authors/pastimes are....: I'm not much of a bookworm but as far as movies go I like action/sci-fi/comedy flicks and documentaries. I love to learn new things constantly, especially about health and our planet.

Whereabouts do you get your fruit, do you know of any places with good selection? I usually shop at Whole Foods (which is super expensive!!) or Organic Garage. But neither usually have many tropical fruits. :(
