After graduating from university last summer I reflected, as many people do, on the last 3 years of my life. I always thought by the time one finishes uni they knew what path they wanted to take. It actually turns out to be the opposite(for most people I know). Nevertheless there were/are general trends people fall into the ones that get jobs and work straight after finishing a degree and the ones that leave the country they are in to go travelling and seeing whats out there, and the ones that move back home. I ended up being in the moving-back-home-however-family-established-in-new-country-category.

Ok so let me state that I was born in Somalia but migrated(from the age of 2) to Sweden were I lived for about 14yrs. Then my parents decided we should all move to the UK were i lived for another 6yrs until they felt moving to another continent i.e middle east was a great idea. So naturally after graduation i found myself moving here to Dubai and embarking on another gap year. So being use to moving around between countries I thought this would be an easy transition. But the question I found myself asking was what do I want to transition to and become. I found myself realizing that the lifestyle I maintained for the last 3 years wasn't ideal. Embarking on a gap year, before I go back to studying, since has given me the chance to "re-connect" with myself. Having found myself mentally, physically and spiritually balanced slightly more than before, and being vegetarian it naturally made sense to become vegan.

I found Freelee through the wonders of youtube and after watching her great videos for a while now I have found and now fallen in-love with 30BaD.

Hi, there are a few places that do organic produce, you place a weekly order and then have to collect it on a Thursday afternoon.  One of these is Ripe:  http://www.expatechodubai.com/whats-on/ripe-for-the-taking/

You can also buy at Organic Cafe, but this is usually much more expensive and is not locally grown produce.

We eat conventionally grown fruits and get these in bulk from the Al Aweer Fruit and Vegetable Market.
