" I could out run any women !!!!!!!! except the ones that want to race. That seems so far fetched it's hard to believe that was the 60's. If it wasn't for crazy chicks I would still be a virgin."

Inspiration To Keep Going!

In 1967, Kathrine Switzer was the first woman to run the Boston marathon. After realizing that a woman was running, race organizer Jock Semple went after Switzer shouting, “Get the hell out of my race and give me those numbers.” However, Switzer’s boyfriend and other male runners provided a protective shield during the entire marathon. The photographs taken of the incident made world headlines, and Kathrine later won the NYC marathon with a time of 3:07:29. My journey with HCRV diet began when I was finally fed up with experiencing an array of health issues. They ranged from acid reflux, extreme aching joints, constipation (and the opposite), fatigue, restlessness, mood swings, etc. I was never mindful when I ate. I ate whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted.

When I came across the raw diet, I thought, these people are insane! How could they give up all the wonderful foods and starve themselves with fruit and veggies, because after all, where do they get their protein?

Then I went on to do more research, because it intrigued me that there were so many people thriving. I would hear their before and after stories and think, my god, that sounds like me (their before stories). I thought, maybe there is something to this diet that I am missing out on.... Look at how healthy they are... How happy they look because they FEEL good, and energized all day.

My journey continues! :)

Yoga, I go as many times as possible in the week. I love singing... But I haven't done it in a long time. I also love skiing, it's also another thing I haven't done in a long time... I want to be creative and active again, maybe going raw will give me that energy again!

I still have quite a few cooked food cravings, for breads and starches (warm beans and soups).

I'd say I've had one cooked meal a day (at dinner.. or sometimes reverse.. at breakfast) since I have started; but I want to go full raw.

I need to harness willpower, I want to find strength in a community. :)

Currently am aiming for three 900-1000 calorie, mono-meals of fruit a day.

I also need help with pairing, I'll need to read 80-10-10 again about that... :)

I just explained to my family about the LF/HC raw diet, and my mom goes, "well you better eat a lot of peanut butter then"... "You need your protein" then my concerned brother chimes in, "Yeah, where do you get your protein?". But after I explained for a minute they kind of nodded their heads and we all laughed about it, so at least they're accepting. What a fun Christmas :) God bless everyone.
