But definitely, it really is amazing here. The mangos will be in season around April/May, but right now I'm still getting ripe ones for just over $1 per kilo, and they are amazing. Looking forward to them getting tastier and cheaper! I bet they were incredibly tasty in India too. I think India is the largest grower of mangos, no?

I will be heading down to Chanthaburi too! The World Durian Festival takes place there sometime around the middle of May, so I couldn't miss that for the world. I plan on winning the durian eating contest and eating more durian than any human rightfully should. :D

I did come here alone, but there are many other friendly vegans/raw foodist in/around the area here in Chiang Mai. But even without that, to be honest Thailand is safer and more laid back than most parts of the U.S.! My parents were worried about that, but especially once I got here it's like "Okay, no need to worry!" People are incredibly friendly here, it's just insane.

That's awesome to hear you're keen on traveling--have that sense of adventure! I haven't done all that much travelling yet, but this trip here is the kickstart to a long career of seeing beautiful new people and places.
