Hello, I am new to this Forum, I have been to this diet for almost 6 months, my teeth have been VERY sensitive when I drink cold water and acid fruits. Obviously my dentist has been blaming the fruits. I switched my toothbrush to a soft one, any other suggestions? Has anything like this ever happened to you?
Thanks for the response!

When I started trying this diet out I had several kinds of dried fruit at once one day. Severe pain and sensitivity followed and lasted for two weeks! I wasn't sure if it was the dried fruit or just so much fruit in general...I kept eating lots of bananas, dates, melons, mangoes, tomatoes, grapes and pineapple but I avoided dried fruit and have had no sensitivity since. I also avoid citrus because my dentist said to (I have severe gum disease/recession from my previous life as a junk food vegan). I also got a ph kit to measure the ph of my mouth after various foods. I'm not sure what to think about this. Pineapple, for instance, is acidic but turns alkaline once it mixes with my saliva. But does the acid cause damage when you first bite into it? Also, I am taking 5 mg of xylitol per day, chewing the mints after each meal. This returns mouth ph to alkaline and kills the bacteria that causes cavities and gum disease. I'm thinking about trying OraMD, has anyone tried it? Btw, you can spit out the xylitol after swishing it around if you don't want to include it in your diet.
