My second 5k!

I improved my time by 3 minutes. My recovery time was a lot quicker and I could still feel the burn by the back leg muscles for 3 days after the run.  I am super excited to run a 10k, hopefully sometime in July. This in preparation for my first mountain climb in 2014. TGBTG!As always, I am looking forward to everyone's encouragement :)See More

My first 5k!

Ran my first 5k yesterday! So excited! 41 minutes 30 seconds :) I had 1 watermelon for breakfast, some sponsored coconut water in a tetra pak (I forgot the name but it was yummy) immediately after the run, then for brunch, another watermelon, then for lunch a chia berry shake, and salad. For dinner, Another large salad and a fruit platter. I slept for 10 hours after :) I woke up feeling refreshed, but around 4 pm the next day, I felt like sleeping early again. See More

Sourcing fruit around the US 2013

Where are the best places to get fruit in Central/Upstate, NY, Boston/Milton, WA and West Covina, CA? Going on a road trip with a bunch of carnivores. It would be nice to explore as many varieties of non-tropical fruit (I'm from the Philippines) while I'm there! Thanks!

thank you for your answer.

regarding fruits it can be hard sometime to buy loads of exotic fruits like mangoes or pineaple. but beside this difficulty (and the people whoe make it harder for you) i think its just right for me living in romania :)

As outside is warmer but still impossible to not wear a jacket, i cant stop myself wondering how it is to live in such a majestic country :) ...

Thanks Frannie!

I only go to Manila twice a year, for about 2-3 days each time and this is what I found so far:

Best HCRV-friendly place to shop and eat in Makati is the organic market at the Legazpi Village carpark. But only open on Sunday morning. :(

Second best option is Sugar Leaf. Last year I very much enjoyed the all-you-can-eat organic salad for around 400P. Closes early in the evening (7pm?).

I was also invited recently to the Corner Tree Café but was very disappointed: the salad was small (even though supposed to be for 2) and pricey.

I noticed that the Save More supermarket where I used to buy some organic vegetables have stopped selling them. Found some at Rustan's supermarket but no organic fruits there -- except for some organic dates, but very very expensive.

:)

Hello Frannie,

I see that you live in Makati. May I ask if you know some restaurants in that part of Manila that would serve dishes close to a 811 LFHC raw vegan diet? Or restaurants offering good organic salads and fruits?

Many thanks in advance for your suggestions and your time!

Cheers, Vincent
