I recently have been red flagged with a borderline type 2 diabetes. I was eating mostly fruit during the day and some cooked food at night. I was trying to to mix fruit with fats, and fasting for 20…Continue

Jonathan said… Hello, I am going to be flying into Fort Lauderdale tomorrow and looking to meet up with some peeps from this forum to hang out with and share some fruit with. Give me a shout if you're about :-)
Also I created a Miami meet up event and am searching for a sweet spot to host our gathering so if you can make a suggestion I would very much appreciate it.
Cheers
Jonathan
Good to hear that you're doing great. I am also doing well. This is only my 5th day without binging, so I'm concentrating on "one day at a time." I'm just concentrating on this one day, and trying to get all the way to bed-time with no SAD cooked food; just all the fruits and veggies I can eat. If I can do this for 60 days straight, I'll have my blood sugar stabilized-without medications.
How's it going?
Hi Enrique,
I heard you say someting about fats and I wanted to remind you they are no good for arresting diabetes. They inhibit the effectiveness of insulin. Reversing diabetes is, intellectually, very easy: just eat fruits and veggies--and nothing else.
My problem is that I frequently get lonely, bored, angry, tired, stressed, etc. At those times I want to eat for emotional reasons--and my intellect is not much good at those times.
Last night I felt like eating some "comfort food" about 9 p.m. I was just about to give in when I realized that all I needed to do was "tough it out" for another hour or two and go to bed! So I read a book, read the paper, worked a crossword puzzle, and did some exercise for my lower back. All those were "wasted time," by most people's estimation, but I got through the day and went to bed. Today is Day 3. Every day has some kind of challenge!
Today I feel like there is not really anything difficult about this program--except coping with my emotions without "comfort food." Since childhood I have had the habit of using food for social, recreational form of relaxation and emotional escape from reality. That is what makes this program difficult fo r me.
