"Hi, I am also considering buying dates online. Did you order the jumbo ones? In my experience the bigger the dates are the tastier they seem to be. I'd appreciate any advice as I have never ordered dates online before, thanks!"

Anyone in college in the Midwest?

I'm currently studying at Purdue University, and I was wondering if there were any fruity people in Indiana/Midwest? (I am from Illinois just outside Chicago originally and that's where I spend my summers). Also, I was wondering if anyone had any tips on succeeding as a raw vegan in college? What I think will be the hardest part for me is being with my friends who all drink alcohol and eat SAD and stay up late. Not many people understand why someone would be a vegan, much less a LFRV/HCRV. Tips…See More

Profile Information

Our community would be delighted to know you better. Please tell us more about yourself and what brought you to 30BaD. Detailed responses will only be accepted (feel free to reapply with more detail if at first not approved as a member). We suggest you pick a name other than your own if you want to maintain anonymity.
My name is Eileen, and I am a college student in the United States. My freshman year of college, a good friend introduced me to the book "Skinny Bitch." I was already a vegetarian, so she knew I would like it. I read the entire book in one go, and overnight became a vegan. I eat cooked vegan food currently, and although I have made leaps and bounds of progress (both in physical health and in emotional health--I had an eating disorder from age 10-18) I still feel like I could improve more. Not long ago, I stumbled across Freelee's youtube channel while searching for vegan recipes. She was so inspiring! While watching her videos, I just had this overwhelming sense that a low fat raw vegan lifestyle was exactly what I had been searching for, and I started researching immediately. Making the decision to become a vegan was the best choice I ever made for myself, and I believe that going completely raw would be infinitely beneficial to my health. I discovered 30BaD, and I have been reading all I can as a guest on this site. There is so much good information and I can't wait to interact with other people who have the same values as I do! Many people in my life (family, friends, etc.) don't support my veganism. I want to be able to get and give support to other people who might feel like they are loners in a SAD world, and continue to learn all there is to know about living a raw vegan lifestyle!

Please tell us about your dietary inclinations:
I really want to be HCRV and just need some guidance
Reading "The 80-10-10 Diet" by Dr Doug Graham is vital for succeeding on this lifestyle. Please acquire this book as soon as possible.
I will read the book
Are you Connected?
no & keen to connect
Durianrider & Freelee started this site to bring together high carb, raw vegan lifestylists' across the Globe! 30bad is a high standard and high performance team! We're here to help you make our team! Let us know what HCRV assistance do you need?
I would love some tips on how to increase my fitness level. I was a dancer and cheerleader in high school, but my running now is dreadfully slow, I want to be able to run a 5K or even 10K by the end of the summer. Also some advice on socially being a vegan (I found I lose friends because I can't go out to eat with them) and perhaps advice on saving money on food (College student=totally broke). Mostly I just want to listen and learn and hear what everyone else has to say because I find that learning from people who are the living example is the best way!
30bad is a HCRV (high carb, raw vegan) internet community which promotes a high carb raw lifestyle free of any animal products. Our forum does not tolerate encouragement of anything contrary to HCRV. Nor do we allow endorsement of non-vegan items or practises which involve the imprisonment, exploitation, abuse or murder of sentient beings. We also require our members to post with proper netiquette. Therefore, please indicate your intention:
I will comply because I like totally agree with all this
