"I've learned so much in the past month, that I am not concerned about this at all anymore! And I feel kind of silly for being about the one millionth person to freak out over such things. But I guess I am not alone!
If you happen to stumble…"
"I don't! :p But I DID... as a child. Because that is what I was taught. Although I was never fully okay with it. Once I realized I was fully capable of thinking for myself without getting punished for it, I freed myself."

I began eating a vegan diet for ethical reasons in January 2010, soon after becoming a mother. It wasn't hard for me to give up the animal products after what I learned, because I honestly, truly abhor the idea. I've been conscious off & on since then with healthy eating, but I have never made it a habit. I was basically eating the same diet I was before, only devoid of meat & other non-vegan things. I learned there were plenty of junk food options left! Usually when I decided to go for awhile & eat what I thought to be super healthy, it was because I was trying to lose weight. Now, it's about much more than that. (Although I definitely still have excess fat hanging around.) I really just want to feel good. I used to get stomach aches after everything I ate there for awhile. I didn't know my body at all. I didn't realize what specific foods were doing to me, because I ate so many things in combinations all of the time. Now, I am practicing being aware. Reading 80/10/10 & transitioning to this diet has helped me to do this. I am eager to learn more.

My favourite books/movies/authors/pastimes are....
Currently my favorite book is 80/10/10 by Dr. Douglas Graham. I've read through it once, and now I'm re-reading it. My favorite authors for fun are Stephen King, Anne Rice, E.A. Poe, H.P. Lovecraft & R.A. Salvatore. I love cheesy horror movies. Bruce Campbell is my favorite. Love 80's horror movies. I recently took up gardening! I'm loving that. I like to be outdoors- hiking, swimming, biking, just taking walks. Going on adventures! Exercising. Feeling good.

I'm in my first week as of right now, eating 80/10/10rv. So far I've had a ton of questions, but have found perusing the message boards to be very helpful! I'm wanting to join though for companionship with like-minds & support.
