Michael Clark Christy joined shegeekonraw's groupThe only time I was consistently 100% raw (gourmet raw) was in 2006, about 4 months after I had my first baby and wanted to lose weight. And lose weight I did. The pounds were melting off and I got stick skinny in four months, even though I was constantly eating and eating tons of overts (but also having 1-2 lbs of greens in smoothies daily). Then I went on a trip and went about 80/20, and never maintained the 100% level for any consistent period of time, although I continued having my green smoothies.
Now, two kids later, my main personal goal is to get fit and continuously improve my fitness. I have almost no muscle mass and am working to change that.
This is the first time that I am eating raw (and lfrv at that) AND exercising. Harley has been a great inspiration in this department.
In 2004, I did 3 months of Body for Life, and I went hard core (I was a meat eater back then). I got in the best shape of my life, without exaggeration. But after that, I was not able to sustain a routine of working out. That's the bad news. The good news is that I know my body can transform if I work with it. Imagine what 2 years of healthy eating combined with a consistent workout routine would do to a body? That's what I want to find out!
Sometime around August 2007 I attempted lfrv, but failed (would be dizzy and spacey) because one simple factor: lack of enough water. I didn't realize I needed to hydrate with *water*. I thought I was getting enough water through the fruits. Major fail. This time around I haven't gotten dizzy or spacey even once.
I have also become much more concerned about animal welfare, especially: after becoming a mother, and reading "The World Peace Diet" and watching Gary Yourofsky's videos. I think consuming dairy is even more cruel than consuming meat, from a perspective of animal rights.
My goals:
Update: 09/07/2011
On the 7th day of lfrv, and have been exercising consistently 6 days a week.

I got a case of bananas for the first time a couple weeks ago. They were what the guy said "perfectly ripe", which mean they were green, but not too green. :) I found out that what I call ripe they call "over-ripe". I like getting the terminology straight here.
The bananas were organic, at 99c/lb + 10% discount. It's New England, what can I say, everything is expensive.
Problem
They came in a cardbox, and were wrapped in a big…
