Been vegan since October 2012, vegetarian prior to that for 5 years, made the change after watching Forks over Knives and discovered the awesome benefits of being vegan. Started reading Dr Esselstyn's, Dr McDougall''s books and am eating the healthiest I have ever done my entire life. My depression started to lift, I have more energy and my weight dropped to a point where I was actually happy with what I saw in the mirror! I knew I was onto something awesome.
Stumbled on durianriders youtube one day and for some bizarre reason kept on going back. It makes sense and it feels like the next step I want to explore. I am reading 80/10/10, I am not fully raw, still eating potatoes and rice and pasta because I struggle financially to get enough fruit and am trying to cut out oats (and wholegrain bread out - yes I know it must go!)
I have been looking through the forums for the past couple of months on and off trying to decide if I want to start the HCRV lifestyle. Recently I've hit a bit of a bumpy road in my life and want to make positive changes and this feels like a journey I now definately want to start. Am looking for guidance, connections and to eat a ton of fruit!

To get started. Be sure to note food, calorie, water, sleep recommendations and log (can use www.cronometer.com or similar) your food/drink intake, at least for the first few months to get used to what you need to eat to stay on target calorie wise as well as macronutrient (carbs:fat:protein) wise. Even if someone is a long time, established, raw vegan, it is possible to discover some things using "hard-data"; spot trends, be able to make good adjustments, that might not be possible otherwise.
