I believe whole heartly that we humans are ment to eat low fat raw food diet primarly of fruit. I am 26 years old overweight but my main concern is not my wieght. I feel desgusting on the inside. I am on a journey and this site has allready helped me so much. I am not looking for a yo yo diet. Freelee I believe you when you say that when you went lowfat raw you found God. Everthing is awaking inside me. I want to join because I have been to alot of raw food sites but they dont endorse 811 that is what I am looking for and that is what your site offers. I went for a whirlwind of reseach on how to live raw and I couldnt live eating all those high fat seeds. with all the time it took to prepare ; it left me feeling like raw food was unatainable. Then I descovered you. That is were I found out about 811. I didnt even know it was a prerequisite for joining 30bananas a day really It called to me. didn't know a thing about Dr. Graham or mono eating or being a frugivor. You just amazed me how you ate 15 bannanas and some orange juice for breakfast and lunch. I am 26 years old 5feet 4 inch 160LBS digetion is poor but getting better day by day eating raw. complextion is poor I am tired alot my outlook on life is bleek. But When I go to bed at night i sleep like a baby because I know the answer to all my problems. FRUIT. so please let me stay. thank you

Hi Bethany,

I saw your post over on the beginners group. I'm new to 811 myself, but went raw about a year ago. I think one thing that makes a lot of sense is the calorie targets they are talking about, as long as its from juicy fruit and greens. That's a heck of a lot of food and since that food is more nutrient dense, per calorie, you will be very well fed.

That should help you beat the cravings. I know that cooked food is different and sometimes I'll still get cravings, but when I've answered with fresh fruit, it's always gotten me past the urge, if that's what I wanted.

It may be tough to eat 2500-3000 calories of apples or bananas, but if you get some of the higher calorie fruits, persimmons, dates, it's a lot easier. Plus if you have a sweet tooth, these things will feel like cheats when you eat them! :)

For me the hard part is that my cravings are and always have been (even when I was not raw) for savory things. So when I wake up in the morning, really hankering for eggs, toast and veggie sausage or bacon, no banana or persimmon is going to quite fill that niche. But as I get closer to meeting the calorie goal (I'm still not quite there) I do find it is easier and easier, AND I am not gaining weight.

So hang in there! If you slip, big deal, just get back up, dust yourself off and get started again. You are totally worth the effort and I think that if you give it some time, you'll start to see changes and those will get you psyched and drive you on! :)
