Day 10

I could never go back to eating animal-byproducts, the way I feel is too amazing to go back/ I had 2 apples and a kiwi, spirulina and spinach smoothie for breakfast, lunch was 20 dates and 3 huge sweet potatoes, and dinner was about 8 pears and a huge bowl of rice. I also did about an hour of starclimber at the gym (thanks to my newfound energy) and did a easy 2 mile run :)See More

"Make sure you're keeping track of your date calorie total BY WEIGHT, not per date.  Per date calorie numbers in Cronometer and other calorie trackers are WAAAY off.  I wouldn't be suprised if you actually ate much less than 5000…"

Day 8

Breakfast was 5 banana smoothie with 15 dates and kale, broccoli and spinach. Snack was 2 apples, dinner was 2 huge sweet potatoes aaand i know you shouldn't eat late but I was still hungry and I had 4 rice rolls (sticky rice wrapped in seaweed). My run today was amazing. I did 8 miles EASY, whereas before I was so tired after half of that. I did notice that I'm getting cold really easily. Not that its uncomfortable, but it's noticeable. Maybe because of the low fat? "Right before this lifestyle I would usually run 12-15 miles a week. Top 5 mile runs, but now I do 45-50 miles a week easily never sore or tired. My runs can 10-13 miles every time. I feel so good and energy was never better. "

Calorie counting isn't cute

Breakfast was a 2 banana smoothie with spinach and 10 dates. Lunch was 30 dates, had a box of strawberries for snack, and for dinner I'm having grapes and sweet potato fries. I entered my info into cronometer to see my fat and protein intake and it shows me my calories too (been trying to avoid that). I guess I'm up to 5,000 calories a day now, and as a 5'1 girl with a past eating disorder, I really struggle with that number. But the way I feel and the happiness I have beats all the…

Breakfast was a smoothie of 2 bananas, 2 dates, 3 cups of baby spinach, 1 cup of kale, and 1 cup of chard. My acne has gotten really bad. I'm thinking it's possibly detoxing? Any other fruit bats with skin issues flaring up when starting?

Hi April, to calculate calories by weight, just get a kitchen scale, and then, before eating food, just put it on the scale, and enter the weight in Cronometer (without seeds and skin).  So for example, when I'm eating dates, I grab a handful of them, pit them all, and then put the pitted dates on the scale, and in Cronometer, instead of picking the "date, pitted" option, choose the "Gram" option in the drop-down menu.  It's good to do that for dates and bananas, as the numbers for those are almost always over-inflated on a per-fruit basis.
