Hi all,I've had two failed attempts at 80-10-10 and am about to embark on another, much more realistic, transitional try. My husband has agreed to come with me this time, so I hope it will stick! But…Continue

"Have you tried making your own granola for cereal?  There are tons of recipes and then you can dump the toxic Kix.  I would encourage having him drink more almond milk-if he will-to get more liquids in him.  Another great…"

Amy replied to Maria K's discussion Is it really possible to raise healthy raw children?
"I agree that as parents we should do the best we can and not make food a source of stress or power struggles. That said, I am surprised at how many 811ers think kids can't be healthy on a raw diet. What about this hypothetical day: Breakfast: 4…"

"I'm feeling good at about 5-7% fat, but it's still really early so I'm playing it by ear. Some days I do a few brazil nuts (I know, not really raw, but good for selenium), oil-free pesto made with walnuts, or hemp seeds. I really love…"

"I'm only 2 weeks in, but I'm also breastfeeding and I wanted to add my experience here. I've tried 811 twice before this and failed after about a week. This time I'm having no problem whatsoever sticking to it because I have been…"

"We put a tiny amount (1/16th tsp) of the chlorella in the smoothies/ice cream...it has a very strong flavor and you want to start with very little as it is dry and you need to hydrate it.  Hope things are better soon!"

I have experimented with the high-fat raw diet in the past and have been attracted to 811 ever since reading about it 2 years ago. I am only now starting in earnest, and I would like some support on the transition and also in helping my spouse and my 5-year-old son embrace this lifestyle.

Please tell us about your dietary inclinations:

Reading "The 80-10-10 Diet" by Dr Doug Graham is vital for succeeding on this lifestyle. Please acquire this book as soon as possible.
Yes, I have read it and I love it.

I would like community support for sticking with lfrv. I am also very concerned about my son's health. He is 5 years old and is on the autism spectrum, which carries with it extreme pickiness and major digestive issues. I would love some advice about helping him transition to a diet closer to lfrv (although probably with a slightly higher fat intake, from what I read) and I hope to cure his chronic constipation/dehydration/general elimination concerns. I hope that this change in lifestyle will also have positive impact on his attention/communication/cognition.
