Fear and Stress - Tangible? Transferable?

I have read from a number of sources that when an animal is slaughtered, adrenalin is released and the person who consumes the meat takes on the animal's fear and stress.  Has anyone ever experienced…Continue

Getting the greens down

Didn't want to co-opt Andrew's post, but I, too, have trouble getting greens down.  Sometimes I make green smoothies, which tend to be a few leaves of romaine with strawberries and bananas, for…Continue

I discovered David Wolfe years ago and went raw, but it was quite a struggle. I had raw days and cooked days, but I lost a lot of weight and my health was much improved. I was tangentially part of a raw food community in San Diego but the community changed. People started telling me I was eating too many bananas and then David Wolfe started advocating wild greens and I went back to my terrible habits, worse than the SAD because I consumed a lot of sugar. I was looking for a way to get back to raw and googled "David Wolfe fruit" to see if maybe he went back to his original philosophy and I stumbled on the video "Why is David Wolfe fat"? I followed some links, watched a few other videos, and the information validated my feeling that fruitarianism is probably the best way to go. It also validated my suspicion that raw cacao is not really the best thing, and explained why my previous attempts to go back to raw failed -- I was eating cacao shakes and other desserts. Let's face it, that stuff might be better for you than Baskin Robbins or a Snickers bar, but it is just a different form of addiction. The information is also in synch with what I have identified as my major problem with staying raw -- I do not consume enough food to sustain me, then I turn to the traditional crap. I am very excited to learn about people who advocate fruit and hear about their experiences.

This lifestyle has been difficult for me because I am a baby-steps, small-bites kind of person.  I get overwhelmed at the idea of massive amounts of food in one sitting.  Today, I made my banana smoothie, washed all the dishes up, and sat down to enjoy -- which I did, very much!  Then, much to my surprise, I was still hungry and wanted another.  So I am having another!  Maybe it was the chocolate mint herb I added after watching the dancing video that I can't find anymore.  Anyway,…

I watch you sitting there

waiting for me.

You are cold and hard,

but I want you.

You are big

and strong

and when I wrap my arms around you,

I tremble with anticipation.

Soon

I will jab my knife into you,

split you in half,

and gaze lovingly at the sight of your big red heart.

And when your flesh

merges with mine

I know it will be nothing short of ecstasy.

Ah, watermelon season.

GRATITUDE

I just have to say, I am so grateful for this site and for 80/10/10.  Today, after a breakfast of pineapple and bananas, I agreed to meet a friend for lunch.  As I walked out into the sunshine and began a 15-minute hike up a city hill, I felt so good and so grateful for feeling so good.  I realized it was not just LFRV, but the other aspects of 80/10/10 that the longtermers stress are so important.  I was getting sunshine and some vigorous exercise, following a pleasant and restful night of…

Thank you so much for the kind words in your friend request, and the post in the obesity thread that demonstrated more of what I'd like to say.  That cigarette analogy was a really good one.  I don't post on 30BAD often (lurking occasionally) but felt compelled to say something.  I was so anxious about the type of response I'd receive but everyone seems rather open.  That was such a relief.  It's great to know there are others here like you that really understand what I mean.  Honestly the whole experience has left me practically elated =)  Much of that was your friendship request comment-- I've been feeling pretty old and misunderstood lately and you made me feel young AND reasonable.  Thank you for that.  <3

Hello Amelia,  A few weeks ago you mentioned wanting to talk about one of my comments about alcoholism, AA and/or OA, but we never got together.  My fault.  My life is very unmanageable.  Should we try again?

I miss you, too. I've been missing in action again. I went off the diet. Its hard for me not to be transparent and I didn't want to be bringing anyone down in here. So, I'm back on. This is day 3 or 4. I'm feeling good again!

Hi Amelia!

Thanks for the friend add! They can try to jump down my throat all they want, but I don't think they'll get far- I'm too full of mangoes! ;) I love Santa Monica. My grandma lives in the San Fernando valley, and I always make it a point to visit Santa Monica when I visit. Lucky you to live there!

Have a beautiful day!

Oh, I went to this wonderful workshop on angels once with a world renowned angel channel.  She said St. Louis was the heart chakra of the world.  I think it's probably true.
