Banana Island Question

I would love to do a banana island but wanted to make sure of what it exactly entailed, and wanted to know how long is it preferred to do it...I live in a colder climate and bananas are the only fruit that has stayed cheap, so it will really help me stay on the 100% raw way of eating since it is more affordable for me right now...also, if I eat mostly bananas with some other limited fruits and some greens occasionally can I do it longer? I would love to do it for all winter and early spring.…See More

"Don't worry about it. Just eat what you enjoy eating (that is fruit) until you start craving greens (which might take a while, especially since it is summer now and so much yummy fruit around!)."

"Dr. Doug says it's fine to skip the greens at first, that eventually you will crave them.  Celery definitely counts as a green.  Skipping them will help you increase your calorie intake too. :)"

Hi, My name is Amanda. I am 35 yrs old. I am married and have a 15 yr old son as well as a 13 yr old son. I'm fairly new to 811rv but am really enjoying it. I'm pretty obese at this point (started at 346lbs. at 5'8.5") and am pretty much coming from a SAD diet although I was vegetarian for about this last 6 months, I have exercised all my life and am still pretty athletic, as in coordinated and enjoy participating in sports not setting records or anything lol, I have lifted weights for at least 10 yrs. also. I would like to say I have a fair amount of muscle but who knows under all the fat! I do have good strength and since doing 811rv for going on my 3rd week I have lost zero strength and actually seem to recover better and I have lost 20 lbs in the first week - water weight but it's a start. Since then I have not lost more but went up and down about a pound back and forth but have continued to lose inches and feel great so that's still awesome in my book :)...I actually love to play sports and exercise, this has never been a problem but food however has!! But really this is working great and I love fruit which I could have none of on other diets I previously did. My husband and I are both doing 811rv and I am transitioning my kids too. Everybody around us thinks we've lost our minds lol! So I am here at 30BaD for support and info. I am going to start doing You Tube videos to keep me accountable and to track my progress so at any time I can look back and see how far I have come and the health I have gained. Well I hope this is detailed enough bcuz I can't think of much more lol!

Just support to stay raw as my husband already plans to eat cooked suppers after 90 days- Vegan of course though. I plan to let my kids choose cooked or raw vegan at home, but I want to stay raw, and since I know having psychological attachments to old foods might hinder me I would like tips I guess to stay raw.
