I'd switch to green tea or yerba matte for awhile if you don't want to go cold turkey. These are far better choices. I was addicted for years but I'm totally off caffeine.

I spend most of my time....
I've been interested in optimal health since I was a teenager. I tried a raw food diet for a month when I was 16, and I felt great. I'm in nursing school at Sonoma State University. It's been very stressful and my healthy lifestyle habits have been on hold. I'm definitely suffering from less energy and decreased ability to focus. Maybe this 80/10/10 diet will help me feel more energetic and happier. I practice the martial arts of Taiji, Bagua, and Xing-I.

Thanks for the advice : ) Yeah, I want to stay centered and grounded as much as possible because I know I'm in for a course that will demand 100% commitment. It should be a great experience though. Much respect to you!

Personally, I followed Dr. D's advice when I started 811 almost 4 months ago by slowly incorporating more and more raw food into my diet. Basically, the more raw food I ate, the more likely I was to not eat cooked food simply because I wouldn't be hungry for it. The high fiber and water content as well as nutritional value of these raw foods are great for keeping you feeling full for longer. The trick is to become accustomed to the volume of food that is needed and this just takes some time. I'm still new to this whole process myself.

My mom and step dad live over in the Berkely area in Cali...right next door to you. I was down there for the first time a few weeks ago. It was awesome! San Fran was gorgeous. Wonderful area for sure : )

After 6 months of 811, I ate vegan cooked food again for 2-3 months. Definitely lost my 6-pack and got some moobs. There's still some excess fat below my pectoral muscles, which is quite agitating. ha. I know it will leave in time.

And I've heard than for women, strengthening your pecs gives you more firmness and lift in your actual breasts, kind of like how bodybuilders strengthen their brachialis to make the biceps brachii "pop."

Same here, at least 100 khadrawys if I'm mono-ing on dates. Today I had 12 oranges for breakfast, and then probably 30-40 dates (which are small than medjool). (no dinner - somehow wasn't hungry even after a huge training day yesterday)
