30 Bananas a Day!

DSCF3753

Great fruit haul this week, got a box of vine cherry tomatoes, box of grapes, box of bananas, three boxes of nectarines, about six kilograms of blueberries, box of organic saturn peaches, watermelon, bags of fresh mint and basil, some strawberries, cucumbers, celery, red bell pepper, and some heads of curly and butterhead lettuces. Also got some broken watermelons for free, so I am munching down a 5 litre watermelon juice with mint (inspired by FullyRawKristina) :D Cheers!!

@JanineTuilakanienenu yes they are organic Saturn peaches, they get mouldy very fast ;) I haven't found a farmers market so far... I buy all my weekly fruit from my vegetables and fruit merchant at a local typical Dutch open air market. Most of the fruit is from the greenery. They get there fruits from all over the world, but I guess the blueberries are from somewhere in Europa. The biggest problem is that the quality of the fruit is often just bad... not sweet and very water rich. Getting ripe tropical fruit is also difficult. Going fully organic is probably the best way to solve this, but I haven't found a way to do this yet, I guess it will get insanely expensive in the Netherlands (+200 Euro a week) and logistically difficult. I got some family in Groningen my folks are there right now /me is waving :D

How can this not make you feel abundant!!! Wow!

And aren't those saturn peaches awesome? I bought me a case of them today too.

Did you get those boxes of blueberries directly at the farmer or at the farmers market? Or at Ekoplaza?

@FilleFatale Thanks!

@JLyn Thanks!

@eachpeachpearplum Thanks!

@DannyBergman Thanks!

@Porfirio I use the basil for dressing with cherry and normal tomatoes, bell peppers (sometimes dried tomatoes) I freeze the basil to keep them longer. I use the dressing (blended) over cucumber and or zucchini with tomatoes. I got an other picture of some tomato basil soup. Why do you recommend slow-juicing the rind of the watermelon?

@TeriL Thanks you as always :D

@JaredSix thanks, blueberries are always insanely expensive, I try to buy them locally, so I feel saver buying them non-organic. There are some good local sources here, but they won't ship or freeze them...

@BenjaminJosephVolynchook I live in The Netherlands, and a fruit based diet isn't cheap here, on average I spent 14 Euro a day on all my food and drinks. This fruit haul was 110 Euro (134 dollar), always try to buy in bulk if you want to save some money. @Electroash check out some of my other pictures I fill bags of delicious blueberries and freeze them.
