30 Bananas a Day!

Are these bananas ripe enough?

I just started eating bananas about a month ago. Haven't had one since I was little (about 3-4 years old). I'm still struggling to know how the bananas should look like when they are ripe enough. They still have a little green colour to them, on the ends.

I've actually had bananas that were all yellow with some brown spots but were hard-ish to peel and were more starchy than sweet, so not quite ready. I'd eat them over McDonald's for sure! But not ideal. I keep over ripe bananas that I cannot eat before they go too smushy, peeled and frozen and use them in smoothies, for those times when I am waiting on my latest haul to get ripe all the way. I know frozen is not the best, but it helps me bridge the gap.

I would wait 2-3 days before eating those. But in case if of banana shortage - then sure :)

There are still green parts. I would say: peel one. If it opens easily, it's ripe. (An unripe banana also tastes and smeels different.)

Perfect. Eat one slowly which will allow your tounge to fully absorb the sweetness of the banana.

They look ripe to me. There doesn't have to have spots covering the *whole* banana. Bright yellow with brown spots = NOM.
