Hi everyone! I am so happy I've started my vegetable garden this year!

It helps me when I was vegan and it helps me now, I am on raw diet only a second month.

We also had had a snow here in New England but I still have a lot of greens, asian cabbages, bok choy, swiss chard, collard and mustard. All I need for green salads.

Good Luck to Sunny Florida!

Hi Lekoma you are so lucky with your climate, i'm making gardens @ moment ground is so hard & stony here so i just put a layer of cardboard or paper & cover with horse poops add old straw or hay & top with well rotted manure cover with plastic & hopefully in spring will uncover  beautiful soil! I've got some winter spinach & corn salad growing that is if slugs don't get em first & i've ordered some strawberry plants & am going to try sowing my peas at end of month to Hopefully get an early crop in April Roll on spring it's all wind & rain here at moment but that's Wales plenty of soggy wet weather.

Hi Lekoma. I'm just coming out of hibernation.  Its been a long, cold winter.  Today my husband and I walked around the yard and made plans for the next few months.  Two new plum trees and a bee garden are in the works.  Plus we are starting to get the soil prepped for planting.  Exciting times.

Your summer has been amazing.  I have been following though not participating(i'm like a sloth in the winter!). Are you lovin Florida?

And, if you don't mind me asking-what wheelchair?

Every morsel counts. The body knows when something is grown locally with love.  Go out and love on the peas and thank them and ask for more. BTW ask the critters to leave them alone.

Did you just pop them into your mouth or did you create something with a recipe?

I like to make samosas with my peas and cauliflower

Concerning the wasps, I have fond them to non-confrontational most of the time. While sitting on my wooden bench they will land next to me and chew off the wood fibers, then fly off then come back for more. Never buzzing or bothering me.

It is when they get swatted is when they get aggressive.

Thanks Jimmy and Lori. I will look up your references. I agree that deer also need to eat and heed your advice. Never heard of American currents but will now look them up.

Seed Savers Exchange is great for heritage heirloom seeds and plants,They have preserved thousands of varieties over the years from extinction by the likes of Monsanto & Co.

Hi everyone, I am new to this group, but have been busy creating planting beds. I would like some help in knowing where to buy seeds/plants in general.  I am also wondering what to do as here in Virginia we have many deer and would like to plant (some will have to be in containers though) many things.  Herbs are not a problem though as deer don't like them.  Any and all help would be appreciated.

Thank you!
