My favorite body weight move is a yoga headstand!!!  Love it!

Hi everyone, I'm new to this site and the timing is perfect...coming back toward 811 after a couple years away, and just read the You Are Your Own Gym book, so to find this group was sweet! I just found the You Are Your Own Gym iPhone app and am supposedly :O about to start the 10-week suggested program. :) Anyway, hi y'all.

Annette, I would start out by looking at a fitness YouTube channel like Yuri Elkaim or Zuzana Light:

Even if your indoor space is too small for some exercises you can always go outdoors when the weather is nice.

Annette, my favorite body weight exercises are push-ups, pull-ups, pistol dips, regular dips with a couple of low and stable dining room chairs and hand-stand push-ups against a wall. These may be a bit advanced for some, but a few of them can be modified. Also, found a copy of Convict Conditioning in PDF for free when I did a search on Google. It has exercises starting from easy and working up to awesome.

Hello to all,

I'm new and would like some suggestion on how to start using your body as your gym.  Live in a very tight space about 3ft by almost 6ft area that would be the salon/living room (live on boat, that would be the only space that's roomy enough). Right now all I do is walk 40mins a day, really have no idea how to start, help would be appreciated... Thanks

I just bought convict conditioning! It seems geared towards men only but I really want to gain strength and stamina. I just started a walk to run program too. I'm super excited :-)

I have had Convict Conditioning 1 in my possession for maybe a year and a half and did some of the low end exercises. Planning on starting it again over the next 3 months. Also I bought Insanity  and am looking to incorporate it in with the CC exercise plan at whatever level I can without causing burn, fatigue, and soreness. My understanding is that the soreness is a creation of an acidosis/low oxygen environment which is a breeding grounds for anaerobic microbes and cancerous conditions, a precursor of a weakened immune system, and a hindrance to recovery. Pavel Tsatsouline says in Power To The People that you never want that burn if you are interested in building strength. I was feeling great with the levels I reached with CC
